Re: Roster/Staff Updates
I actually think that I may have been the first person to come on here and publicly call for him to be fired last year. After we got lambasted in a game, I did come on here and advocate for firing our coach, but neither of your positions apply to me. I was simply embarrassed by the product on the field and what I perceived as a lack of coaching ability to put a winning product on the field. I did later admit that I was a bit hasty in that position, but I still said what I said based purely on how we looked on the field.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2026 4:57 pmAppStFan1 is correct. Winning makes people happy and shut up. Losing makes people mad and complain.
Anyone advocating for a coaching change this early, including 94, are doing so because they either A.) do not personally like the coach or B.) harboring negative feelings towards the firing of the previous coach.
Many of these people, including 94, will endlessly state they are rooting for the coach to succeed, but they just simply aren’t.
I haven't personally known any App coach or had access to any so I can't say whether I personally like(d) any of them or care about not having a voice, and I do believe that it was time to move on from our previous coach. So, I think you need to add a third category, those that don't think he is doing a good job (however premature those feelings are). I hope for nothing else but DLo to figure it out and lead App to a conference title (it's been far too long), but sadly I have seen nothing on the field or in his history that suggests that will happen. His recent high school recruiting does look very good, hopefully some of them can pan out early and we can have a winning season.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
There is a recruiting page where the commitments are located. Until the ink is dry, no real need to get excited about them.

Like 81.37% of all threads on the YC, the thread has tangents. Par for the course in the off-season.

We are 9 months from signing day. A lot can happen between now and then as we have all seen before.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2026 9:28 pmCan you not believe that such talented recruits want to play at App?

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Loggains and staff are putting together a nice class on paper for sure. There is no doubt he can recruit. Can he keep them is the question? That, and being fair since Clark got 5 years, are why I believe we have to give him at least 3 years. If he can keep these guys and they are as good as they are suppose to be we should be better this year and have a shot to be pretty good in 2027. Time will tell.

To be fair. We don't know if they are talented yet. Also, I do expect that a few of these guys are using us as a placeholder.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2026 9:28 pmCan you not believe that such talented recruits want to play at App?

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
For me anyway, I would say cautiously optimistic. We have all seen this story before whether App. St. or some other university. I will jump for joy for when I see them all suit up Game 1 in the year enrolled.
We had a very good recruiting class, on paper, last class and this one appears to be trending in right direction. Let's get some more in the trenches and and the future outlook appears bright from a player personnel. Hopefully, in game coaching rises to the recruiting level.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Indeed. Just got to continue to recruit them once they are on campus because under the current rules Ole Miss has shown us that a player enrolling in class still does not guarantee they suit up.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2026 6:39 amFor me anyway, I would say cautiously optimistic. Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Interesting perspective and thanks for owning up to your previous statements. So based on your statement last year when you said you advocated for his firing, if you were the AD, would you have actually done it or were you just throwing a fit and kicking chairs in the conference room until your boiling blood cooled off? If serious, exactly HOW would you have executed such a firing of a FIRST year HC considering the real world state of our university and athletic financial considerations and series of resulting consequences of such a move? It sounds easy but just the fact of pulling the trigger on a fire is one thing but the WHOLE resulting impact would have been substantial. How would you have managed all of that? That is probably why many folks said those statements are not appropriate at that place and time. Please explain it to me? (since it is the offseason and we have some time and this is the "Staff Updates" thread.t4pizza wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2026 8:01 pmI actually think that I may have been the first person to come on here and publicly call for him to be fired last year. Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Just crazy isn't it. And these magazines have to do that or else there won't be enough players with good production to put on these teams.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Cross hasn't said anything on any of his social media accounts except he now has appstate_fb listed in his Instagram bio. Some guys just don't post much about things. Recent 27' commit Arwin Jackson never posted about an offer from App before he came here on an OV and then committed. Just part of the game these days.
