Agree 100 Percent. Some people are calling for Gray to be cut loose immediately for striking a female but looking forward to the return of Canty who did the same thing? Puzzling to say the least.asu66 wrote:-------------------------appbio91 wrote:I don't like this. Winning isn't everything. Everyone is innocent until their day in court. Let him have that day but he's shouldn't play until then. Since he and Gray are charged with exactly the same charge one must wonder, if this was football season, if Coach Satt would let Gray play. Based on this year I don't think so.
Purely for the sake of discussion, if I'm put in charge, Mr. Canty sits at least until his case is adjudicated. If he's found not guilty--he plays the next night out assuming he has the GPA and credit hours to be classified as a junior in good academic standing. If he's found guilty, he may be turning in his uniform. It would depend on whether he's remorseful and whether he has to serve an active sentence. If his attorney negotiates a plea bargain with the DA (let's assume that Canty is a first offender) then he sits until he has completed any assigned community service and anger management counseling. Then he still sits until I'm satisfied he's back on track as a decent citizen. And going forward he's on a short leash as long as he's a student at ASU.
Everybody who's been around this forum; the old Delphi forum or the even older SI forum are painfully familiar with my rants about our basketball program. I want to win and win big; but I want it done the right way. The young woman who was injured in this matter is someone's daughter. I'd want to be able to look her (and her parents) in the eye knowing that I'd handled it strictly by the book.
