I've stewed on this awhile but here goes. "I’ve seen it mentioned that DG will not terminate Coach Clark after December 1st due to the absence of a full-time Chancellor.

If that’s the case, it would suggests that DG is simply a bureaucrat not an actual leader the athletic department needs.
I believe that inaction on DG’s part would be viewed more unfavorably than standing pat and passing the buck so to speak to the incoming Chancellor. This could potentially lead to DG’s replacement as well. That’s just my perspective. thoughts?....

A new Chancellor is likely going to want to select his/her own AD, who in turn would want to pick their head coach.

Would think that would depend on who chancellor is, correct? A new chancellor may or may not want to make that change. Would Heather want to make a change for sure if she gets the job?

I don’t have any idea what her relationship with Doug is to answer that with certainty. With everything that she is navigating, I imagine that she is going to let those paid to make those calls, make them.

It would be a MAJOR mistake for the administration to take the support for granted. When you stop coming and find other things to do on a Saturday it becomes easy to stay away. Another year like this one and both students and season ticket holders will become increasingly apathetic. Dangerous times ahead if they kick the can.

For those not renewing season tickets if Clark remains, are you a thick or thin Appalachian supporter or only when the team is winning championships? Will a 4-7 or a 5-6 record diminish or extinguish your continued support? If so, then goodbye because there are others to step up and buy your tickets. Alums and fans attend games to enjoy Boone, the mountains, visiting campus with tailgating and the game day atmosphere. Appalachian and Boone is a special place on an autumn Saturday. Enjoy it, life is short.

As a long time investor, I will continue as long as I’m blessed with the resources. But I must say that winning , the anticipation and realization of seeing a really good football team perform, adds a ton to my Gameday experience. And that experience motivated me to dig a little deeper, and deeper , over the years. I know quite a few people that feel the same way.

Exactly. I don't want to see my money squandered. It is easier to dig deeper when you are winning because you know the resources are being used well. I am not confident that the money we are giving towards football is being used to the best it can be. I watch Indiana and I see a 6-4 talent team that is 10-0. I watch App State and see a 7-2 or 6-3 talent team that is currently 4-5.
