They(coaches) do that on Thursday nights at someone's house before games - maybe ya'll can join....
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: BOT Chair comments about the game
I sure as heck remember the wins and losses (at least the ones where I wasn't drinking moonshine). That is the single biggest difference between where we are as a program vs. Western Carolina. I'm sure Western students have fun at their games, but is that really our measure of success?

I have no words. I guess we can drop the prepping for Liberty because it’s all about our fans jumping up and down and hitting the bars anyway.

I am honestly speechless given the video I saw this morning. That's basically all but saying that the board of trustees is completely fine with mediocrity.Given our beloved school's history in football this is completely unacceptable.
Unrelated but can we change our screen name on this site to something different?

Yeah we should not even recruit good players since it does not matter according to him it sounds like. We might as well not even keep score either lol. Really embarrassed he is our BOT Chair after seeing that.MAD Doctor wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 10:35 amI have no words. He does not speak for all of them. I would have loved to see the entire room while he was talking. All he cares about is having influence, perks, and his name on a building. Honestly, if I was Gillin I would make a deal to pay him back his donation and remove his name from the facility LOL. Those comments are an embarrassment. I know Gillin does not agree because I have heard him make the comment that it is critical we don't fall behind and that we must win to maintain our brand.RaleighApp27609 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 11:17 amI am honestly speechless given the video I saw this morning. That's basically all but saying that the board of trustees is completely fine with mediocrity.Given our beloved school's history in football this is completely unacceptable.

Re: BOT Chair comments about the game
Yeah, because we just have $10 million lying around for such a cause. I just think it was an effort to show some public support for Shawn given the result and the reaction to it. Some of it was over the top, but I wouldn't read too much into it. Its an effort to give him space to do his job. It doesn't mean that he is safe regardless of the season going forward.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 11:28 amHe does not speak for all of them. Re: BOT Chair comments about the game
I was being sarcastic about paying back but he could have done that in other ways. He made it sound like App is about getting drunk and sliding down a hill. All he had to do is say we support Clark and the team and hopefully we have better results next time. He is definitely not safe. There is pressure. I would pay to see how the rest of the board was reacting as he said it. I bet some were even more awkward looking than Soefield was in that clip.hapapp wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 11:43 amYeah, because we just have $10 million lying around for such a cause. Also, Beware of the public vote of confidence.

Indeed. It means nothing and that is just one member. There are a lot more people on that board who could disagree.

He would not win a vote of confidence. Nor would anyone be so delusional as to ask for one.

Re: BOT Chair comments about the game
I figured when there was buzz Gillin wanted to extend Clark and the BOT refused to approve it and you add in our start that it would be the case. These next 4 games are huge for Clark.

We can’t even do that. Almost every true college bar in town is gone. I feel bad for these kids. The only option they have is ale and tapp.MAD Doctor wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 10:35 amI have no words. Re: BOT Chair comments about the game
I’ve thought about this a lot. I graduated in 2018 and granted I can’t speak for everyone but at least at that time most kids in my immediate circle either thought we were still FCS (they thought that was D2) or they didn’t know what conference we were in or any of our conference opponents. Going to games was more of a social activity than anything. I’m just curious if that’s changed or not.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 9:13 amIf someone polled the entire current student population that attends football games and all former students who are alumni what would be the percentage who knows or cares about:
Making the CFP
The level of App State football
The conference we play in

I give as much credence to what comes out of the BOT as I do when the NC General Assembly says they support education
