McCall 26-40 (65%) for over 300 yards, 3 TDs and 1 int.. First game in new offense.
I am not seeing "bad"...
I watched the game from start to finish. He and receivers timing was off a bit ..but first game...just think what those stats would have been if timing were better synched. Still 65% is not bad in first game with new team. Just my opinion

These games happen every single year. A decent to good FCS team with a pretty good quarterback and that over achieving playmaker hangs tough with the decent to good P5 team. They make it a one half game, the fans go nuts for a while then when it’s over the P5 wins by 2 scores. People bury the P5 as overrated or no good then they either figure it out or open up the 80% remaining in the playbook. I saw lots of timing issues. Just put the ball in the hands of Concepcion and let him run. Dude is legit good.

I don't think ETSU will have a lead over us in second half but I would not even panic if they hang around a lot longer than you want like WCU did with NC State. Things like this happen in week one. Can't over react to just one game. NC State will have to play a lot better on defense if they want to contend in the ACC though.

He looks slower when running and accuracy issues were very unMcCall like. I've watched him play probably 8-9 games over three years and he missed more open WRs last night than any three games combined I watched. He looked like an above average QB, versus won of the three best we've faced over the last three years.

I have never rooted so hard for WCU. too bad for them this would have been awesome.

I'd be concerned about the OL and Rb if I were a State fan. Timing between McCall and the WR will improve, but WCU shut down that Pack running game until they ran out of gas late.

CCU was tough to judge because JSU looked terrible all night. A lot of it was self inflicted too.

In our last coaching search, Bell was on my personal short list. That guy knows football
Maybe if we lose 4-5 games this season, Bell can be coach at APP next season???
Haha. Maybe. Shawn earned himself a year to see what we can do with Joey. Let's get it

Better stats than it looked. What I saw, he doesn't seem to have the arm strength he did a couple years back and he definitely doesn't look as quick on his feet either. That was evident last season at Coastal. Not trying to bash the guy, wish him well. Just observation.

Not much to look at for games tonight, I guess pull for Elon which also hurts vs Dook.

Definitely looks like that shoulder injury has hurt him. I don't think it is bashing to point out. McCall realizes the same thing I am pretty sure. The fact NC State hitched their wagon to him coming off injury made me wonder if they missed out on others or thought the rest of their roster was good enough that they could still win with him.

I think a lot of us (myself included at times) try to talk down McCall because we know the recruiting background and that he played for a rival who has our number right now. He missed the last 6 games of the season from a hit that caused him to get stretchered off the field. Plays like that can affect a player's confidence and play until he becomes comfortable again. Add in that he is in a new offense, new stadium, etc.. I think he deserves a little bit of grace for his "subpar" 300 yard game.

It wasn’t pretty, but Colorado got the job done against a tough Bison squad known for playing the spoiler. Given the TP churn and other question marks for the Buffs this year, opening the season against NDSU offers Prime a good gauge on what he has to work with going forward.

I like the energy with Colorado, but I'm affraid they will be punching up to the competition the rest of the season.

Leon’s OL is very porous. Duke with 5 sacks already in the 1st half.

UNC QB Max Johnson out for season with a broken leg. Tough break for the Heels…especially so early in the season.

Duke has never intentionally injured an Appalachian quarterback.
