I'm a little confused, reading the comments it's almost like we LIKE Barbay now.

The folks who complained did so just because of our record and don't know anything about him. I fully believe that he was being influenced and we did not see Barbay wide open doing what he wants. He is a creative mind and a very good coach. I am sad to see him go but wish him the best at MSU.

It's also best to let a sleeping dog lie and not stir up people here talking about "inside info" of Barbay being handcuffed. My hope was that it'd resolve itself. Now that he's gone, it's worth bringing up. A lot of things i hear make my stomach churn like eating too many hot wings from Delories back in the day. I just hope you know who grows from this.

Agree with this. Although, a lot of the handcuffing (not all) was due to personnel. We were fully healthy weeks 1 and mostly healthy in week 2. Never fully healthy again and a lot of key players were playing with injuries because there wasn't another option. I know with absolute certainty at least 3 of our starting o line should have missed at least 4 weeks with their injuries -- they didn't miss any.

And then we had at least one player who sat out some games despite being healthy. I knew we had 2 with injuries up front but didn’t realize we had a third.

I don’t know how we do it. We will need to double the annual salary pool for coordinators and assistant coaches. Also offer options for two year contracts after a successful first year as an assistant with a buyout added as soon as the season ends.

We could certainly go rogue and offer assistant coaches two and three year deals. But, then you have to be patient and live with your choices. I’d love to see that kind of outside the box thinking to attract and retain coaching talent.

If they change whole offensive staff I would not mind having Kyle Richardson as OC. He ran a fine air-raid offense at Rock Hill Northwestern before going to Clemson.

Sounds like we sit back and wait for the smoke to clear.......meaning wait to all the P5s patch their holes and maybe even a few deeper pocket G5s before we can even line up interviews for DC and now OC. Inflation, TP, NIL, attrition, and long list of factors ........loyalty be damned in today's world with all these drivers. Same in the business world.

Watts essentially took over later in the 2020 season and our offense actually looked like an offense again. May not be a bad thing.

Highly doubt Ponce is coming back unless he's been fired in Miami.

I will say, I was a little underwhelmed with Ponce as OC. Much like Barbay, loved the flow the first couple games, then went stagnant and predictable.
Seems like more wrinkles and inventive calls from Barbay when we we’re actually doing something besides dive plays up the middle

At what point do we look in the mirror and realize that we are probably the reason these coaches keep leaving? How many coaches read this board? How many of them see the negativity and absolute hatred during most gameday threads?
