I've stayed in the Hampton Inn once before. There's a couple good restaurants, including a bbq joint and a sports bar, in walking distance.

We are at the Hampton as well. Is it real BBQ or that Ketchup based spew?
We're booked at the Hampton as well, but I''ll warn you about the bar-b-que, it's Alabama you may wish for the tomato based if they serve the nasty mayonnaise based sauce that seems to be a delicacy down there.
The first mention of BBQ!!!! Ive heard Dreamlands and Some Rib Shack. Where is the best BBQ place to go??
Dreamland is great Chris. There BBQ is good, not NC good but good. The ribs and chicken are very good.

So my question is this....we filled out the form for all four bowls (you get billed when App picks a bowl). We havent gotten any response from billing of that. Did everyone that preordered not get theirs? Of course I did rely on my wife to take care of this task..... I may have made a mistake.

No charge and no email. Think I saw in another posting there would be some communication tomorrow.

I don't know if it's been said but apparently we sold out our allotment of tickets and have requested more (according to App State Twitter accounts.

My wife and I are staying here as well. Coming down on Thursday so that we can have some time to soak in the bowl atmosphere. Look forward to seeing App Nation take over Montgomery. ;)

Since this is our first bowl, we should spell it correctly. Would someone please add an "l" to the subject in this thread.....

It's the "Camellia Bowl".

Thanks Go Apps

Thanks Go Apps
I changed the spelling in one of the thread titles, but there is no way to do a global change and there were already way too many posts with the incorrect spelling. I just had to let it go.

Dear Appalachian State fans,

On September 1st, 2007, I was sitting in the stands at Ohio Stadium watching the Buckeyes dismantle FCS Youngstown State. I was a junior in high school at the time, and growing up near Columbus, I was a pretty avid Ohio State fan (that quickly changed when I moved to Athens to become a Bobcat, but I digress).

Much to my amusement, and the delight of the fans still in attendance, the final minutes of the Michigan vs. Appalachian State game was broadcast on the video boards there at Ohio Stadium. Watching that blocked field goal kick that led to a Michigan upset was magical.

Since that moment, I've always had love for your football program. (Hell, I even moved you guys up to FBS in my NCAA Football 2008 video game and won you a National Championship!). That year, a good friend of mine visited Boone, North Carolina for a college visit and I had him pick me up an App State T-Shirt, which I wear regularly to this day.

However, that t-shirt is now in a box in my closet where it will remain until bowl season is over. I'm very much looking forward to this bowl game and I think it is going to be a hard fought win for whoever comes out on top. That said, I believe App State is gonna have to wait another year to win their first FBS bowl game. I'm predicting a 31-24 victory for the Bobcats.

Best of luck and safe travels to both teams.

GO OHIO!

P.S. looking forward to wearing that Mountaineer shirt again sometime in 2016

P.P.S has anyone deemed this game "The Battle of Appalachia" yet?

Now this is a true sign of respect. It's been many years, but I believe I once led Ohio to the national title back in the Sega Genesis days. Welcome!

Well here is the deal. If you have the ability to go and are on the fence, just do it. I have never believed in bowls. To me it is just another non conference game and why the hell does that deserve a trophy? Just being honest. So I was just going to watch on TV happy to see us play one more game. Well long story short decided today to go. Got to thinking what if I really regret not seeing an ASU first. It would be too late to go back in time. So I go to the bowl. Who know maybe I have a change of hart on bowls. at least I will not have regrets for missing it.

Guess I will leave earlier than planned on Friday in order to get my tickets on Friday vs Saturday. One night there, then off to New Orleans after the game. Tailgate juice should be gone by the end of the game.................

Go MOUNTAINEERS!
