His 50 & 51 yard FG's yesterday were great and had enough leg to go 55-56.

I wonder if he could sign an UDFA contract next year...?

He wasn't benched, just got injured at GS. But yeah, he wasn't injured at Southern Miss.

Matics was on Mountaineer Talk this year and talked about coming back after that game.

Perfect on PAT'S and only one FG miss this season. Special teams as a whole have played much better. The muff yesterday was the first special teams turnover this season.
The injury ended his season, but im pretty sure he got benched during one of the games last year.

Kind of hard to tell watching the game on the ipad and with the camera angle behind the goal posts but those two field goals appeared to be high and deep- looked to me like they would have been good from nearly 60 yards. I agree with everyone else. Amazing comeback story. I never wanted to say that he cost us those tight games last year because we had opportunities to put each of them away without it coming down to a kick but still, Matics has shown an amazing amount of improvement.

Agree with this thread. Most improved player by far and there is no comparison.

The two saturday were clutch, especially the second one from 50 when we were behind.
