Re: Ohio
To quote a popular phrase "not so fast " hapapp. If our guys can get off to a fast start sans turnovers we can rout them. I've learned not to underestimate our guys when they are on their A game....Probably won't happen but........

And if we turn it over 4 times we likely lose. There is certainly the possibility that we win decisively but it is just as likely that it be a very close fought game.appstate77 wrote:To quote a popular phrase "not so fast " hapapp. If our guys can get off to a fast start sans turnovers we can rout them. Re: Ohio
I expect the Defense to turn it up a notch in the Bowl Game.
So far this season we have outscored opponents 77-7 coming out of a bye week.
While Ohio is likely a better team than those two opponents, I fully expect the coaches to have the players prepared to play December 19.

Re: Ohio
More bitching? Really? And already a prediction of a blowout? "Meh," indeed...must be a seed wart and furuncle epidemic out there.

Re: Ohio
I think with this game there is nothing for us to focus on outside of winning. We don't have a head coach looking for a new job, we don't seem to have any off field issues, we should be well rested and recovered from injuries, and we will have a TON of fans there. The two fumbles deflated us and did bring the team down. I do think we got tired and the injuries started to kill us. If we start turning the ball over against Ohio, or we start getting injuries, then we are gonna be in trouble.T-Dog wrote:Remember yesterday when we had no heart and were terrible? Re: Ohio
The one thing I will say that works against us is that we've never been here before. For the team, it's not just the game, it's the pep rallies, the community events, etc, etc. There's A LOT of distractions.
Solich, who has been at Ohio 10 years, has gone to 6 bowl games, all in the last 8 years.
Satterfield does have experience at FIU going to bowl games, but not as a head coach.

Re: Ohio
I watched Ohio play N. Illinois on TV. They actually looked pretty good, especially their offense. Should be a good game. Looking forward to it.

Not losing sleep over how we win, nor arguing about it...
Not a battle worth fighting.

Re: Ohio
Are our win more about impressive? Keep in mind we only beat 2 teams with a winning record while they beat 3.ASUTodd wrote:AppinATL...... not sure why you think that's the darndest thing..... Their wins aren't impressive and they rank below us in every category. If we are healthy this won't be close.

Re: Ohio
If we win we will have beaten 4 teams from 4 separate Group of 5 conferences.
Our boys now just need to be healed, focused and hold onto the ball and it should be a good game.

Re: Ohio
"Bad?" Really? They are 8-4 playing in a tougher conference than ours. We're 10-2 and pretty happy about it. How do you go from where we are to "bad" in only two games?Appersrule wrote:Ohio is bad yall. This should be a rout if App comes to play.

Re: Ohio
Kind of hard to get a read on Ohio, as they've been pretty up and down. They started off the season strong, completely cratered in the middle, then all of a sudden turned it around the last three games. They've also played three QBs at various points - I'm not sure if there were injuries involved or what - so it's hard to say how that might have affected things.
If we get the team that beat Marshall and NIU, we'll have our hands full. If we get the one that lost three straight midseason by a total score of 152-55, we should roll.
Bottom line, though, it's an 8-4 team with wins over Marshall and Northern Illinois. Beating them would be a very nice way to wrap up the season.

Re: Ohio
We left 14 points on the field for the last two games (tuning the ball over way too much!), if that trend continues you are correct we will be in trouble.ASUTodd wrote:If we start turning the ball over against Ohio, or we start getting injuries, then we are gonna be in trouble.

Re: Ohio
They were decimated by injuries as were we . They had something like 18 injuries to starters per there message board but they will be 100% healthy for bowl. I saw law hurt during the game I never saw him come back in or heard anything ? Any updates on our injuries?
