No press is bad press but it would be nice if the world wide leader in sports could get the APP - GSU score right...and use a photo from this decade. GAH.

Sitting in my office and on the wall is a framed copy of the SI cover from the Michigan game. It will always be a great memory but for crying out loud when will we play a televised game or get a write-up that doesn't always lead back to that game? I guess if Boston College returns to some sort of relevance they will show the Doug Flutie Hail Mary pass every time they are on television.

Also sick of that Cal-Stanford game and now the Michigan-MSU game will also get played over and over. As sick as I am of the Michigan game, I'll take our sickness over UM's all day long.
I'm just ready for us to make some new noise. Doubt it happens at UT next year, but I'm keeping an eye on that Penn State match up down the road.

Wish we could get that shot at Penn State this year. Franklin is recruiting lights-out, and unlike Butch Jones, he has actually shown he can win at the P5 level.

Nothing like scrolling down one of those never ending articles, finding a piece on our Apps and seeing a nearly 10 year old picture. That substantiates why we are now a team to be reckoned with? LOL

guys, for most casual college football fans 2007 was the last time they even thought about our program. Most folks probably don't even know/care about the NCs. Using that picture to me makes total sense, as sick as we may be (not me!) of it.

The caption provides good context to why that photo was used. Love when we're playing well and have nothing to bitch about so we can find any little thing to bitch about.

The intent of the obligatory LOL was to lightheartedly point out that most folks frame of reference for Appy State, Appalachun St is the Michigan win. I will never get tired of talking about it or referencing it in certain situations. I just hope we are known for more than that one day. Not bitching, just making a comment. I guess we shouldn't fee bad. I notice that commentators doing Panther home games make sure they say Charlotte, NC. To me there is no need to say NC but to the larger portions of the country many people may have no idea where Charlotte is.

If we're supposed to be bitching about little things: I linked this article and it was discussed by some in the "National Media Love" thread. I even copied the whole section concerning App, minus the pic of course since I knew it would make some comment.......

I'm just kidding around....It deserves it's own thread. :D

No problems....I really was just kidding around. ;) It's good press and no reason it shouldn't be put up several times. :D

Well at least we are in position now to prove to everyone that there is more to our program than the upset at Michigan 10 years ago. Hopefully they will start adding the term "perennial" in front of our names and "champions"

Make it to a bowl and win this year, next year get ranked.

I'm sure Boise was known for their upset of Oklahoma for years afterwards, but then they just kept on winning and started beating more teams. We just need to do the same thing

It takes time and wins, national attention and recognition doesn't happen overnight. Without the 3 national championships, long string of conference titles, and what thus far has been a very successful move to the FBS, that Michigan win packs a bit less punch 10 years after the fact.

App keeps building on this "tradition of winning" (a phrase that's been used in more than 1 nationally published article this season) and the conversation will shift. Win baby, win!
“When you take that field today, you've got to lay that heart on the line, men. From the souls of your feet, with every ounce of blood you've got in your body, lay it on the line until the final whistle blows.”
