Must be fixed ASAP!!!

Unread post by appgrad98 » Sun Sep 06, 2015 9:28 am

This has been mentioned before, but the sound system is an embarrassment to our stadium and standards. You can barely hear the announcer on the other end of the stadium. Could easily be fixed by adding speakers to top of Owens. It's been this way for a while. Anyone have any idea why this continues to be overlooked with all the other improvements that are made.

While painting the hillside "A" this week, they were playing music and it was loud yet clear....seems that some songs on game day...or actually, pre taped segments are louder and thus distorted. The crazy thing is ...I'm sure there's a guy with his hands on the volume controls that can adjust this kind of thing. I'm a firm believer that test runs need to be done for everything otherwise the presentation will look high schoolish. When it comes to aesthetics around kbs, the powers that be need to always have the thinking that "image is everything!"...from cold drinks....to distorted music...to all around appearance.

The "A" looked good on TV by the way.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

It looked better in person ;) As to the sound, it would help tremendously to have the board and speakers in the same neighborhood as the field. But we all know that's not a solution for now.

I totally agree. If ASU needs a sound guy, I recommend ProConnect in Lenoir. They know something about plugging in a danged stereo system.

The distortion I heard yesterday was a real bummer!! The whole sound system needs to be checked out. I don't think it is the speakers; rather, I think it is an amp, or a cable, or some other sound component that is sub-par.

Fix the damn thing.

And, the play clock failure was just damn sophomoric.

Can we have a sound check sometime BEFORE game time. Like Wednesday?

I've said before, most high schools have better sound systems than we do! Embarrassing!

Agreed on the sound. It was good when Steve White or the Band Announcer were on the mic. But, it was dismal when they cranked up music. (Why do we need to crank up music, when we have a great band?)
Video was terrible yesterday. The Graphics did not match some of the Hall of Fame Videos, Replay was non-existent in the first half, not good.
It also would have been great to tie the ribbon boards in with the Hall of Fame recognition.
