This blows the socks off our Rivals site. And we have to pay for that. After the GaSo win we had nothing but a copy and paste of the ASU SID article until late Monday or Tuesday. The articles on there are a joke and are clearly written by a phone interview with a player or coach for a minute or two. We've basically had nothing on the recruiting end by comparison. One poster recently asked a recruiting question, which was followed up by some others, and has yet to get any type of response. If not for the posters there, that site would be useless. His articles are as wanting as his recruiting info. It is so obvious that he is rarely even there, whether it is practice or at games, and he avoids subscribers questions like the plague. If he does answer, 90 % of the time it is "the coashes aren't saying at this time", or "I'll look in to that". Just BS.
And then we get subscribers actually thanking this guy for posting things like he's doing THEM a favor. They say this like he's doing it on his time and dime.
78, thank you for the hard work you do that is obviously for the love of APP. Finally, something worth being thankful for on the recruiting end.

The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg, S.C., says LB/DB Michael Wamer (6-3, 205) of Woodland High School in Dorchester, S.C., holds an offer from Appalachian State among others.

Thanks, Kgblade. Yeah, I'm frustrated with our Rivals site, too. But I try to remind myself that a) the administrator works on a part-time basis and I'm guessing he gets little compensation for his efforts, b) we don't know what marching orders Brian gets from Rivals, and c) we don't know what role our coaches play. It's possible they have asked Brian cut back on in-depth recruiting because it might, in their eyes, hurt our efforts. (I don't believe that, but with coaches, you never know. They can be a paranoid lot.) Keep reading. Feel free to contribute.

I know for a fact ASU is recruiting this one heavily, this has been posted but ASU is on him pretty heavy, his dream school is Ohio State but you know how that goes...He plays basketball, but is better in football. Rontavius McClure 6'6" 215 wide Reciever out of Rock Hill, SC...Plays for Northwestern HS. Dont know where he will end up at. But I have seen one ASU coach in particular visiting him. May not be long before the SEC / ACC schools find out about him. Rumor is Wake Forest has contatced him with a letter.

Could not disagree more. Brian runs a great site. He also runs the Duke site and that is his primary source of income-read job! Our site is supplementing and pretty much a labor of love. Couple that with family illness and Brian is not around alot right now. We all know that. Simply not enough traffic to warrant a full time position.

Let me say that I am not at all in agreement with this post - Brian who runs our Rivals site does a GREAT job in my opinion - as a couple of posters have mentioned he basically does this for the love of APP State - also he has been dealing with family illness and any of us who have been through that totally understand his need to be there for the family - I could care less if his info might be delayed a day or two or even longer during this period - Also it is my understanding that his assistant took another position so he also lost his back-up help. He is a major asset to ASU and its fans and I will stand with Brian any day, every day !!!

This kid wants to go to App but is being heavily recruited by the stink! Last player I suggested was Adrian Mora who went on to the Stink. Hate to see us lose another one to them, especially onre that wants to come to App and his parents want him to come here. Hope we can get the coaches to look at him

Yeah, I understand his father is ill and I am very sorry about that. But, the problems with that site go way back. Way back. His coverage reminds me of that great mind reader/psychic medium, John Edward. All smoke and mirror with no substance. Sorry, but if you combine this site with AppFan and GOASU, you're left with absolutely nothing to gain from the Rivals site.
Last week ASU had the biggest game since, quite possibly (ending our run of playoff appreances, defining where our program is and where it is headed), our last National Championship game. The post game article was a copy and paste from GOASU. Same for the first basketball game of the season. If that satisfies you for ASU coverage, then you're probably in the habit of settling for less in life as well.

Kaliff Phillips has qualified!

I do not go out on many limbs but I will here. This kid is a difference maker! 29 years in Kannapolis, 35 plus years watching ALB football he is in the top two running backs we have ever had. He and Tracy Johnson Clemson--Atlanta Falcons--NFL are the two best.

I think, better pure running back than anyone we have had....(Nick Maddox (FLA ST), Travis Riley (UNC)) Maddox better WR than RB, and Riley Better LB/SS than RB

I do not know how to upload video so I will ask the kids....but last Friday in the second round of the playoffs he had 31 carries, 340 yds, 7 touchdowns....he ONLY has 81 carries for the season and 1755 yards...we must have been saving him for the playoffs!

Man I hope he chooses APP!

Thanks for all the prayers.....and just keep it up a little while longer!

He has been to several ASU games this year (from what I heard at the tailgate Saturday with Beer Hat Guy) and he WANT'S to go to ASU. After what he did last Friday night, he might be the best RB in the state of NC.

According to Rivals he's 5'10" 185lbs and Scout has him listed at 5'11" 185lbs. Rivals shows KP with interest in/from ECU, UNC, NCSU & WFU while Scout shows him having interest in/from App St., ECU, NCSU, The U, WFU. Niether site shows KP holding any offers.

His block at the 4:55 mark is tremendous.

Will watch him Friday verses Charlotte Catholic. Would love him or next year the Catholic RB E Hood. 5'11" 210 runs a 4.6 40. Last playoff game against Weddington he had 19 carries and 336 yards. But he can go wherever he wants.

it helps a kid when he has positive people like you and daniel in his corner...way to go good doctor...even if we don't get him, you know y'all had a good hand in helping him break through and go the extra distance!
app f'ball's important but any quality education for him is great because of his athletic talents.

I watched the Weddington game on Hudl. He is a good back but his lateral movement...unless he is hiding it is not there.....he is a good straight up runner....and just might kick our butts....but Weddington had 8-9 ON the line of scrimmage last week and any time he got past the LOS...it was a freeway.

KP had kids from HR taking bad angles after the first quarter....NOBODY wanted to hit him.

I want so badly to say who he reminds me of from ASU but everyone will think it is hypocrisy. I just hope he finishes out his last three 9 weeks well, upgrades his ACT, and signs with ASU....WE ALL WILL BE TALKING ABOUT HIM IN A YEAR!

After giving his video a closer look, I have to agree. He's not a burner, but he always seems to get three or four more yards than you think is possible. And even when he's not running north and south, he's always squared up to the field. I can certainly understand your enthusiasm.
