This makes sense. Duke and the Chapel Hill campus, for sure. Add in Davidson (which I have already stated my newfound respect, but can still see how one would want to punch them in the face), and UNC-Harrisburg, because they just need to be punched in the face.

Did you notice the link to what each state is worst at? Here is North Carolina's:
North Carolina: Worst state for education
North Carolina was determined to be the worst state for education based on a number of factors such as education spending, student-to-teacher ratio, and percentage of dumb kids.

I believe she had filed a civil suit and this is probably a settlement? ---

UNC is finally being penalized. Of course the NCAA waits till after the final four.

Can someone refresh me on what SACS has done?

I can appreciate what the NCAA does with self-reporting and such. But given how UNC-CH has been less than forthcoming and trying to downplay this series of events one would think if the NCAA wanted the truth, though I think I know the answer to that comment, then the current situation would not be so buddy-buddy.

It's apparent that nothing major is going to happen to the Heels.

Nothing major will happen to them, but had an Appalachian, UNC-Charlotte, East Carolina, or Marshall done what they did, it'd be an automatic death penalty.

I tend to agree that I don't think anything really major will happen to the Heels and if so, I think the football program will be hammered much more than basketball - However, a clear indication of the overall problem is the commitment of Brandon Ingram to Duke - Kinston has been a pipeline to UNC and the kid plays on Jerry Stackhouse's AAU team and I heard Ingram say last week that he would have committed to UNC a year ago if it weren't for the "possible" NCAA sanctions ---

No, he is going to dook because cryshelfski is on the one-and-done wagon and he will get instant playtime for his one year in Durham.

And you don't think the #3 prospect in the country would get instant playing time at UNC? ---

You can call it a one and done wagon but it is collage basketball today. This is caused by the NBA not collage coaches. The alternative is for these coaches to say no I don't want you because you are too good. I guarantee every coach would love to have ALL their players for 4-5 years.

losing Ingram really hurts, number 3 prospect in the nation, Carolina's top target, he has been a Tarheel fan all his life, Roy been recruiting him since the 8th grade and now he is committed to Duke....ouch. Carolina will never receive the punishment they deserve, but they aren't getting out of this "scotch free", Roy's recruiting this year has been really hurt, I don't think they have landed more than one or two great players, and on the other hand, Duke and Kentucky are benefiting from Carolina's trouble, by signing Ingram, Duke has the number 1 class next year, with Kentucky second.

Let me go on official record - "I totally dislike the one and done system" but unfortunately the rules allow it and until the rules change we will continue to see this happen -

Yes I should be clear I agree with you 100%. I also dislike it very much. I hurts the college game.
