Wilcox, who played wide receiver at Appalachian State from 1999-2000 and was a member of three NFL teams from 2001-09, will replace Steve Brown in the Appalachian IMG Sports Network broadcast booth. Brown, who has been a member of Appalachian State football’s radio broadcast team for 17 seasons (1992-97, 2004-14), has elected to step aside from the color commentator role for the 2015 season as he attends to family health issues.

I hope all is well with his family.
Looking forward to Daniel also. I would have though the guy from the Charlotte radio that filled in some last fall may have the new color role. I bet this is a bigger time commitment that many realize however.

When one factors in all the travel complications involved with the Sun Belt, it takes a tremendous commitment. While we will all miss Brownie being at the mike, I think we can understand his decision. It's a dreadful feeling when you have to leave your family behind to meet a business commitment when you know that you're needed more at home.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:I have always liked Steve.
