I agree. 94 is a good poster, I just happen to disagree with his label of me being jealous because I hate the Heels. I also hate Georgia Southern, Duke, State, Wake (not really, who wastes time hating Wake), Davidson, the Cowboys, any team from NY, and Alabama, and...well, you get the idea. Does that mean I'm jealous of all of them as well.

You know what they say about opinions...well, that applies across the MMB.

I am sorry if you are offended by my comment. I wasn't looking to single individual people out but my comment was based on the sheer volume of posts that occur when Carolina does anything worthy of poking fun at them. I will give you an example of what I am talking about. A Duke basketball player was accused of skipping out on a $150k bill for custom jewelry a couple of years back. This action was brought up on this message board and there were probably 10 posts at the most on the subject. PJ Hairston was stopped by the police and the flood gates opened. I understand that there are people that don't like Carolina and that's fine. However, there are some that don't think that's OK and that if you don't hate Carolina or any team other than App makes you a closet "Holes" (their term). My point is that other schools aren't subject to the same abuse by posters on this board. I doubt UNC post App information on there board.

No, not offended. I just wanted to point out that the same generalizations are made by two-school fans. You didn't say some UNC haters, so I wanted to clear it up.

I just think the whole jealousy argument is easy/lazy. It's pretty easy to make the case that App alums that pull for UNC are also jealous of UNC [alums].

Pull for whichever teams you like, but afford me the pleasure of hating whichever teams I want to hate. That's all!

I have more pride than to cry over " they won't play us".

BCoach, I've always found you to be one of the more reasonable and likable posters here. You may have just blown it!

Joking. I'm one of those guys, as you can probably tell, that says "pull for whoever you want". Just keep that Black & Gold at the top of the flagpole. As far as playing us, I just don't like the pitiful excuses the in-state guys would give. At least Grobe had the guts to say that Wake would not play us as long as he was coach. We're playing a much higher quality of OOC opponent on average now that the in-state schools bring to the table, imho.

Well just to be clear I would certainly pull for ASU over Duke but it is an incredible experience standing in the middle of the crazies. WOW it is just empowering to be out of the closet!

For those of you who don't "see" cheat as a rival...I have a different opinion. We compete with them for athletes, we compete with them for students, and maybe most importantly we compete for state funding. I've said it before I AM jealous of cheat in that they get all the money and all the programs. SO from now on I'm going to do as my Dad taught me and never compare anything you love to CRAP! (and I love ASU)

Listen..we have to compete with UNC State and even UNCC for funding. Im no fan of UNC or Duke or any other school than App and I think it looks petty for us to always rag on UNC. Seems we spend more time ragging on them that Georgia Southern.

Georgia Southern, to everyone's knowledge, has not committed the biggest academic fraud in NCAA history. Makes a bit of a difference. I didn't hear anyone talking about jealousy or pettiness when there were huge threads about Penn State.
