We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Firefox

I couldn't find the thread where I read it, but from that thread, I installed firefox with the adblock and noscript addon and the load up times are at least 4-5 times faster. So thanks to the one(s) that posted that.

Chuck, this was posted in the "This board takes too long to load" thread. Hope this is the post you're looking for.

And here is the link to the Firefox add on page. Those addons are listed in the "Most Popular" list on the right side of the page.

Ads minimize my out of pocket costs to host the site. That said - I'm going to continue to pay for hosting even if everyone blocks the ads; just know that my out of pocket expenses go up as the number of folks using an adblocker go up.

As far as site issues - please know that I'm putting a lot of time into getting the kinks worked out. Thanks to everyone who has been able to bring some of them to my attention and please continue to do so. The load time issue is something that I will be addressing soon as the plan is to eliminate the side bar on the right. This may also address a few other things - such as going to the top of the screen upon reply and going to the first unread post.

Thanks for everyone's patience.

I appreciate everything you've done and are trying to do to make this site go. I personally don't have a problem with ad's and don't us a blocker. I have, as previously posted, had some problems with both IE and Firefox kicking me off when I try to enter the page but that's more like a gnat flying around than a real problem, I just load a different page and then try again. No big deal to me. I was just trying to help 66 out since it seemed he was having problems.

As far as the costs, if you have access to PayPal just PM me. I'll be glad to kick in some to help. I appreciate having a place to go to talk about App Sports and other issues. I'm more than happy to throw you guys some support.

I do not want any donations by any stretch - thank you for the offer though. This is a way I can stay involved with Appalachian despite my move up to yankee land (I live in Connecticut). I'm not able to make it to many games now so the money I would have spent on that is going into this. I only throw the ads up there because they are out of the way and shouldn't be a nuisance to anyone since they are at the bottom of the page and they do help a little bit with the costs.

Thanks again for the offer though and if you a couple of extra bones - send it to Gerald and the Yosef Club :)

I feel like a schmuck now
It certainly was not my intent to minimize your revenue to help subsidize the expenses (I know you know that, but I had to say it anyway). I do appreciate all you have done to help make this as smooth of a transition as possible.

how does use of tapatalk effect revenue? I don't see any ads when using tapatalk.

A very small minority of people use tapatalk so it's impact is really negligible. Plus it's a really great app. Offsetting costs are a distant second to availability and functionality.
