Gillon and Wilson, two young guys who’ve shown loyalty to us at a time when that’s rare. Looking forward to seeing them perform.

I thought Wilson hit the portal too?

Did Wiles come back once the bowl was announced?

If French plays for GS and our QB is Gillon that is a big problem for us.
I would like to see Wilson play for once if he can/will.

Putting Wilson in the mix at least gives GS something different to look at in preparation, assuming they can prepare for the unknown.

Wilson is in the portal.

Maybe he’s still in the mountain for the bowl game, but on December 2nd he announced his intentions to enter the portal.

I’m disappointed in Kohl not finishing the season, if true.

Agree. Not sure that helps ease some of the doubts about his level of competitiveness. Hopefully those doubts are wrong, but ducking a hit and diving short of the 1st down earlier in the season Along with this has definitely raised some questions about his “fire.”

Would love to see him trot out there on the 29th, ball out and put those doubts to rest. Leading us to a win could help him in the portal and put some real shine on his name with App Nation before he leaves.

Loggains said that anyone in the portal can play in the game if they want. With only one portal window, you have to get your name out there to at least see if there is a better spot. It doesn’t always mean that you are leaving.

Any players in the portal that we know are playing or at least practicing with the team?

Not even a pep band.
I would be willing to chip in some money to get at least a pep band there... Anyone else?
Is the decision from the Provost "we don't care" or "we are broke"? Would it been different had we been invited "initially" after finishing 6-6?
If the band did what the Football team did and packed all their shit away for the season and sent everyone home, it's likely logistical.
From what I've been told as a member, it's all money stuff. Athletics, the fb team, the chancellor, and the rest of the university wanted us there because Stink is bringing their whole band (granted they're much closer) and it looks bad to not have us there, but the provost said there's not enough money.

We all cleared our schedules to be ready to go, and the non-marching brothers were ready to hand everything back out such as uniforms, instruments, etc., but it was a money problem
How are we so poor? I don’t get it. If we are this poor drop back to fcs for gods sake

Multiple what you gave last year by 10,000, now compare that to the lowest P4 donation amount, that's how.

He competed with Swann for the position.

He slid, after he took a hit on a previous scramble. We that his choice or was he coached to do that?

I’d love to see him out there, but in today’s portal world, I don’t know that not playing speaks to his character or the advice he is getting from his “camp”

Another thing that factors in to this is that the players are responsible for getting to Birmingham. If he is planning to leave, and I don’t know that to be true, why incur the expense to fly from Iowa to Birmingham on your dime.

The only item that bothered me was the 4th and 1. We needed the yard and he seemed to brace to not take the hit versus laying out to get the first down. Just my opinion on viewing the play. I have zero problem with a QB sliding to not take a hit on normal down/distance idea. They are QB 1 and we need them in the game. I am not of the mentality that our "QBs do not slide" if running is not their strength. If a QB is built like the Marsha QB.and they embrace contract, have at it. With that said, Marsha QB left game against us due hits taken.
Maybe I would have different mentality if we were a Power school and had a 4/5 star backup.
