If this team wants to win we need to run.
We “ran” our best scorer off in years because he didn’t want to blend with the system.
We had a runner, coach didnt let him run.

We’re not the only place he was run out of, only one common denominator

Yeah, but he looked good down the stretch for USC today. May not be the best apple, but he can play and is the type of player this team needs.

Would you rather go 15-17 with guys that fit the system or 19-13 with one guy that “supppsedly” doesnt fit the system?

Why did we recruit him in the first place?

My, how so many of you forget that Kerns took us to our third NCAA tournament ever (first in 21 years) in his second year. And he had the most wins in program history just 2 years ago, beating the SEC champion in the process and going undefeated at home. It was also the first outright regular season championship since 1979. We were considered one of the top 3 mid major teams in the nation.

On top of all that, all but one player had the ability to return the next season. But we all know the new transfer rules and our lack of funding decimated that team, with only 1 starter returning.

This year, we returned 1 starter that averaged less than 6 ppg. It's hard to believe that some of you can look at what Kerns inherited and the resources he's given and think he needs to be fired.
You sound like a Clemson football fan. “Sure we’re struggling this year but he won them nattys a decade ago”. Coaching has always been “What have you done for me lately???” NIL and portal has just accelerated that.
Terrible comparison. Kerns has given us historic seasons in 2 of his 6 years. Even in his "down year" where he had to replace almost all key pieces last year, he had a better record than any season in the decade before he arrived.

I'm not talking about 10 years ago, I'm talking about recent seasons. He's averaged 19 wins per season in his tenure here and 22 wins over the past 2 seasons.

Dabo went from winning 8 of the last 10 ACC championships to playing .500 this year. Kerns took a program that had losing records the previous 8 seasons and has never had a losing season. His worst season in 6 years is better than the best season in the prior 8 years. Unless you expect our underfunded program to win championships every year, I'd say Kerns has done a lot for the program lately.

Where basketball is concerned, App State is a low mid-major school with limited NIL resources and corporate support. The school is located in a small mountain town with harsh winters. Fan support is better than it was 5 years ago, but still a crap shoot for any given game. Neither MBB or WBB have a tradition of sustained success over the years.

Therefore, is it reasonable to have expectations for basketball like we do for football? Should we expect Kerns and Sharp to consistently win 18-20 games and the SBC every year when it has so rarely happened in the past and TP/NIL have made that hill even steeper?

These aren’t rhetorical questions, I’m interested in what your expectations look like.

Agreed. Even without a capacity crowd each and every game, I do believe we compete for SBC championships annually with $1.0 million in nil compared to $400k .. if that number is correct.
He would have misses from time to time.. but believe he would be in the hunt most years.

The player was kicked out of his previous locker room. We do need better players but we also need standards of behavior. Again , DK raises three quarters of the money for our payroll in his spare time. We have and likely will compete in the Sunbelt, winning more than we lose on a consistent basis with defense.
