This year was going to be hard and we all knew that and accepted it, to a degree. There have been injuries and attrition, but we haven’t seemed to get better or show signs of improved effort. Instead we sit here in game 10 with 1 yard of net rushing? That is a hard pill to swallow when your coach is offensive minded. There is no counter-punch to anything the other team is doing. Is that due to talent or competence from the guys in the headset? I’m not for firing anyone that you signed a contract with, but the effort on the field and the body language and verbiage from the sidelines makes it easier and easier to find excuses to do other things on Saturday afternoons.

Kirby Smart’s son is a regular fixture on the UGA sideline and it doesn’t seem to be a problem.

This guy isn’t Kirby Smart. Kirby Smart gets his team prepared prior to game day. For Kirby Smart game day is just a product of what took place before game day. No matter what was being said or done at the moment of that picture it’s a bad look to be spending time with your young child while your team is absolutely imploding on game day. I’m all for everyone having a good work to family balance but time and place have to come into play. It’s a bad look for our leader. I’m also for sportsmanship but it’s also a bad look for our leader to be laughing with the opposing teams coach after the game. A respectable hand shake would have worked just fine. Leaders have to appear to be leaders, it’s important.

The ESPN app match up prediction no longer has us favorites in last 2 remaining games of the season. I am not in disagreement with that. 4-8!
I will say in my work life I will not hang on to an employee very long that cannot perform. They need to be given all the tools they need to be successful. May be old school boomer mentality but holding folks accountable and replacing poor performance cannot be overlooked.

ESPN projects a 2 loss Navy team as the playoff team for the lowly G5. It makes zero difference to even discuss this especially now but if they get the nod over JMU what does that say about the Belt? Basically our champ will about have to go unbeaten.

It has been extremely disappointing to see the lack of progress offensively. Defense played well yesterday, but you have to move the ball offensively to give your team an opportunity to even stay in the game. There is only so much they can do when you are down 3+ scores with zero fight or progress.

It’s okay to admit there are talent deficiencies in year 1, but it’s not okay to look like a lifeless FCS team. Dowell will be forced to relinquish play calling by Doug, and that may save both of their jobs in 2026.

Honestly, I’ll give a nod to DJ. He has adapted this makeshift defense throughout the season to give us a chance to win. You just can’t keep it going when an offense has like 50 total yards. That’s all I ask, show progress. I think defense has (for the most part). Offense is a crap show.

I hope to be completely wrong but I believe we will phone in the last two games and have a mass exodus of players and coaches in January. I’m not looking to put these young men down but in today’s world they are simply being taught to run from, not through obstacles. The transfer portal lets them move on to a place “that works for them”. Again, not trying to be overly critical of these young men, it’s what they are being taught. I’ll be surprised if we have 20 players that carry over from 25 to 26. That said other programs have made it work. Just look at the thumping JMU just put on us.

This was a bad loss - not even sure how to wrap my head around the entire reason.

And.... the few players that have shown heart and have played hard, will probably move on after the season. More players to replace.

Although JMU is good, they have not beaten anyone of significance.. Lost to Louisville..which lost to an average conference team. I realize OOC games are scheduled well in advance. JMU needed a game and win against a "name" top 25 team. The Ville is not it. Some of it is luck in scheduling. In addition, JMU, early in the year, did not look this good on offense like the team until the last several weeks
Season not over, they may get it in the end I thought navy still has a few difficult teams left. UNT seems to be frontrunner if they won this week.
