There is zero reason with the portal that we should be in that situation. We should never lose to a peer school by 50 points. I don't know how anybody could watch that game and say we need to give him another year.

He:
1) Kept an obviously injured QB in the game who was completing 5% of his passes and had 29 yards of offense to the point in the game where he got permanently injured.
2) Had his kid on the sideline showing ipad fun in the 3rd quarter down 38
3) Laughing it up after a complete blowout loss.

That is not the guy I want leading our program.
If all of this is accurate I would fire him tonight and dare him to try collect his buy out.
All of those things were clearly seen on the TV broadcast; he isn't making any of it up.
Well then I am all in on firing him tonight.

Would Shawn ever be giggling after a beating like this? Rest his soul. Unbelievable performance, haven’t seen an ass kicking like this in years. Excuse my French. Leadership needs to be reviewed asap. This is top down

I was saying all this two weeks ago but people jumped my shit. It was painfully obvious we made a bad hire and this season was going nowhere. It’s extremely sad to watch a great program collapsing in front of you.
Did you sell your tickets? :D. Just giving you crap. All in fun.
Just gave them to some friends to visit gone and take in a game. I don’t even know where we go from here.
I agree with you. However it shakes out, Ill still have pride in my school and rock the block A, but it sure is a low time. Thanks for being a good sport.
Yeah man. I get keyed up and run my mouth too much. Usually drinking too during game.

Listening to the "cup cake" post game interview with DL. By the way, DL said we need to play better again. His answers are nothing, but, "blowing smoke/bull crap".
He doesn’t even seem phased that they just got their ass kicked. No wonder most of the players don’t have a fire in them because he clearly doesn’t. I get you have to be PC with media, but if that was a coach who cared, he’d be giving that interview pissed off.

When can we start pointing fingers at Doug Gillin?
I am not saying Loggains is going to pan out but I think we need to be fair and see what next year looks like. What if he turns it around and goes 10-2 next year and Gillin gets us an invite into a bigger league? If we don't win another game then Loggains will have a lot of pressure in this off-season.
I sure would like to have a lot of pressure and a guaranteed $1,000,000 salary.
That is part of what comes with it. Some fold and some rise up.

We only feel the way we do because we have been on top of the mountain.

Firing anyone at this point is foolish. You need at least five years before you make major changes. One thing in life I wish I had never underestimated is the power of jealousy.

I was (rightfully) disgusted with the coaching staff and players after our showing against South Alabama because I'd never seen us look like that before. Now seeing it in back to back years is honestly appalling.

This is not the App State program of the past 30 years. Plain and simple.
Unfortunately that app state is dead. And today is their last breath.
That App State is truly dead and today's example is the cremated version and it just fell off of the fireplace mantel.

He is much more measured because most in the NFL are. Some up there let it show like Herm Edwards and others but the idea is not to come off so emotional and become a meme. We all know where "we let them off the hook", "I'm a man I'm 40", "They are who we thought they were, we let them off the hook", etc all comes from. I am pretty sure he is trying to prevent that from happening to himself.

DL gives me the impression he doesn't care if he is coaching at App or not. If nothing else the team's continual regression and showing up unprepared would make one wonder.

5 was prior to portal. I think it should be 2 or 3 years, depending on how bad year 1 and 2 were. Definitely needs to be some improvement. Drink got 4 though. He was on a short leash in his 4th year and they had the breakout. He was 5-5, 6-7, 6-7, and then had back to back double digit win years.

Cliff notes:

You had a better day no matter what you did than anybody that watched the game
