Offense is THE problem.
We have A LOT of issues, but this offense is setting football back years. The offense is THE problem. 3 and out take about 30-45 seconds off the clock and toss the defense back out on the field. Not a recipe for success.

I think this one is worse. The 2013 team had a good reason to be bad and still lost a bunch of games by like a FG. I can’t remember how many but I felt like it was at least 3 or 4.

I believe App had at least two chances for the G5 playoff spot in the past and blew them both.
JMU has lapped this program in three seasons.
It's crazy how badly App has fumbled the bag in this new era of college football.

They are what we once were. Now we are average at best.
Loyalty took its toll.

The good news for everyone is they won't score much more or we will score some since I took JMU -20.5 and over 56.5. I don't win, so we'll cover and it'll be under 56.5.

That is the difference, and until this past July, they were not able to use those on NIL but now under revenue sharing they can and I am sure that can make a difference going forward.311neers wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 4:50 pmStudent fees. And again, probably costs a lot less to bring up FCS kids. I doubt any of our Sun Belt peers are really outspending us in NIL. Seems odd that we have higher donations but somehow they would have more NIL. I think a lot of times NIL is used by bad teams as an excuse for poor coaching and preformance.biggie wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 4:45 pmI helped they were hot as NIL started going. We started falling off as it ramped up. Now we don't have money or any pull on name recognition its seems.t4pizza wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 4:42 pmJMU brought in 64 last year and 50 this year, so rosters can be flipped rather quickly nowadays. The question is whether we hired the right coach, time will tell but it is not a good start at all to his tenure. The announcers made an interesting point earlier in the game, JMU primary brings in FCS all stars from the portal and we tend to bring in FBS guys (that haven't played). I think it is pretty clear which system works better.
I'm guessing JMU has more money than us without looking it up though.

We don’t have the high paying jobs yet that lead to crazy donations. Have to find other ways other than donations. Student fees is the way to do it.yosef69 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 4:52 pmWe have one of the strongest fan bases in the G5. We are not remotely close to being average. We are a bad football team and seem to have gotten worse as the year went on. Not the progress I was hoping to see.

Great job taking these time outs so our high powered offense can get a score in the last minute of half.

Do you remember Mark Ricks “I’m just happy to be here and at least the students are having fun at the games” comment? That kind of lazy leadership appears to have been an issue at the university and big booster level for a while. There is nothing magic in the water here and thinking there was and lead us here.yosef69 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 4:52 pmWe have one of the strongest fan bases in the G5. I must say I'm happy to see on espn they could give a shit about the down and distance when we have the ball. Do you think that's a slight or a mercy decision?
