Personal opinion in terms of priority -
OL
DL
WR
CB
LB
QB

FCS and Freshman offer the most bang for the buck.
I don't think we should be paying any unproven freshman at all. Use the resources on proven college players. I would put WR below LB on that list and add RB as well since we lose 7.
Hopefully we see a healthy and ready to play Roberts back next year.

It will be easier to find another Barnes than to find the money to keep Barnes and improve the roster.
And people question player's loyalty to schools......

I don't take what he said as not being loyal to the players but a reaction to the reality we are dealing with in the portal now. We are more likely going to find someone under valued in the portal that can do what Barnes does for a lot less than what Barnes is going to be offered in the portal. It is just how it is.

If we pay him the same next year as this year or even 10% more are we being loyal or disloyal?

Is he getting paid this year? I think there is an assumption that everyone is getting paid and every decision is about $$$. Maybe he's looking to get paid and/or maybe he's just happy to be in Boone and wants to finish his career in Boone.

And, is it really easier to find another Barnes? If we keep and develop one of our existing QB's, do we want them to have a familiar experienced receiver.

This isn't a video game, where you just plug in the next part or piece.

Not everyone is getting paid. Most of the transfers that have had an impact are. Freshmen at our level generally do not. Basketball is different. Freshmen do get paid at our level. We lost a freshman recruit that we wanted badly to an instate peer who will pay him a real wage.
