when your head coach is someone who has never been a head coach before, you're going to have some frustrating losses. Does that get fixed over the first 2 years? Time will tell if we have the right guy.
Of course, if he's the right guy, we won't have him long. Then we have to start all over again, and hope we choose another winner

He’s already dinged up. I hope they find a way to take some of the load off of him.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 9:56 amCan Dubinion take the pounding over the season??? I've missed the others in the room being ready to share that load.rbarthle17 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 9:51 amI'm still completely unsure what to make of this team after last week. OSU is better than an 0-6 team usually would be, talent wise. But holy crap did they do everything possible in terms of mistakes and questionable play calling to give us that game, and it took every single one of those blunders on their side for us to get it. Yes we made the goal line stand, but they made it kinda easy for us with their play calling there.
Boise went exactly as I guessed it would have gone. USM was basically Marshall 2024 and the result was more or less the same. Charlotte stinks and Lindenwood was overmatched against us.
So what are we right now? Maybe the QB change to Kohl is the change we needed to right the ship? I certainly liked his performance better than anything I have seen from Swann. And the more we run the ball, the better we have always been. I think we have a defense that is good enough to win a lot of games if they aren't on the field too much. So ride that running back room have Kohl make the plays when needed, dominate TOP, and let the defense play with passion in shorter spurts.
I guess I still am where I was at the start of the year. Boise was going to be a bad loss, but every other game is winnable, but a lot of down to the last play types of games. If Kohl is the missing piece, maybe these games become less of a coin flip than they were before.

I’m right there with you. Right now, I can’t state with confidence which games App will/won’t win the rest of the season.
If you study the analytics, there are some concerning trends that need to be reversed…and soon.

I have a nagging feeling we have beaten three of the sorriest teams in college football. I might not include Oregon State in that trio but Maalik Murphy played far below his abilities on Saturday. Given Georgia State’s resume and our resume and the fact that the game is in Atlanta, I’m surprised we’re a slight favorite. A 6-6 record is attainable but it could hinge on the outcome of Saturday’s game.

Charllotte isn't good.
Lindenwood shouldn't count, even though we had issues.
Would like to play So Miss again,...one we'd like to have back, I think we are better than them.
Boise St is the best we've played, I don' think we beat them once in 10 games
I don't think Oregon St is bad as their record, we may have not won against any of their opponents thus far either. we'll see how they fair against Wake this weekend?

Not a perfect science but we beat the 190th team in BOA, SURVIVED the 199th team at home, and then SURVIVED the 113th ranked team, at home, after they’d traveled 3000 miles and 3 time zones to play us.
Sorry, positive vibes only I know. I know.

We are 2-0 in Moscow, Idahoasu2000 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 1:05 pmWhat is the secret sauce to winning out west? I would love to be proven wrong that we can win out there, I put a caveat on my no play out west - and thus as long as its home and home then lets do it otherwise we need to win our regional recruiting areas, one off games have not proven to well out that way. What's been the stumbling block for not playing small teams in Florida like USF, UCF?brocktune90 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 10:50 amAs a west coast Yosef member, I like the more western games. Ya'll don't forget those two wins in Moscow!
What are some winnable matchups / on par teams in most given years for out west. We were supposed to beat Wyoming last time but they decided they wanted to re-write the history books with a blocked FG.
Also amendment Montana a certain playoff game was not necessarily our doing of scheduling - but extremely hurtful, so many tears. And have we ever won at Montana?
And the moscow wins looked to be in front of 10,000 rowdy fans each game, i could go on, but you are correct we did win 2 low key games beyond Texas.
1-0 in Las Cruces
We just need for them to be Sun Belt members....

My opinion is that half of FBS would be 0-5 if they played Oregon State's first five games.
Playing USM, Boise and Oregon State in a row like this will be beneficial for this team.
