Completely true! They've always gotten the benefit of history even though they have only been a factor occasionally and even then, they've under-performed in the playoffs. Right now, Miami is (in my opinion) over-rated because of the win over ND. I'll be pulling hard for USF this weekend and I think they have a shot.

Agareed. As much as I hate to pull for a non-SBC team to get the auto bid, and moreover, a team from the American, I want our best G5/6/7 representative there to do as much damage as possible.*

Yes they did, but last year was the anomaly. Last year, ND was legit. That's why I initially referenced the fact they are still riding the momentum from last year.

Last year's performance is used too much sometimes on rankings year in the new year. Boise's first game showed that I think.

.and, yes, the recent past, other than last year, has not been worthy of being in the playoffs...but the side stories of the LB getting catfish-ed was kind of humorous
