BGP

Appreciate AJ getting back to calling balls and strikes for this staff and how we are approaching various aspects of the program.

Much better than the apology hour each week the last three years.

While I agree I'd like to have more information leading up to the game, I have to wonder how much the nature of the TP and NIL era is playing into the ambiguity of the two deep vs. the staff's approach.

I remember see X OR Y OR Z in many position battles the last two years, I even take that the first game week.

Count me in the group that would like a bit more info, but looking at programs around the country it seems like this is kinda par for the course, unfortunately. I think you’re right about the transfer portal playing a role.

The Ethan Johnson interview has some good information between last year staff and DJ and staff.

I've never believed AJ and BigC when they say they dont know anymore about whats going on with the program than we do...If you are as connected with the program and former/current players as they appear to be the you know whats going on.

No if you go around says things that were told to you in confidence you wont get told more stuff...Plus their initial mission was to not bad mouth coaches. They've said it for years.

So I'll forgive them for not being as openly critical as they could be.

But we know you know whats up AJ! 🤣

True. They know that getting guests we would want to hear will get them more listeners so they absolutely don't want to make people mad. Plus, they are good guys who aren't going to just go trashing people either.

100% Agreed

I've never met AJ or Big C but I'm sure they are stand up guys and I love the podcast....I haven't missed an episode in 10 years.

Very few G5 schools have anything like The BGP podcast. This blog and their podcast I consider the most prominent AppSt sports media.

I think the “balls and strikes” is attributed to them no longer having “insider” access and being mad about it.
They had a relationship with Clark and whether protecting their relationship or access kept them from stating the hard truths.
Loggains isn’t allowing anyone inside and they miss having the inside scoop

From my understanding it is just not an advantage. Prior they were allowed to go anywhere the team goes and watch all practices for as long as they want and now all media are being treated equal and many practices are closed. Definitely was a relationship with Clark and when media are too close to a coach it can make it hard to state a hard truth. The interesting thing will be if there is fear by media not to state hard truths with Loggains out of fear he will just pull whatever limited access they have.

One thing people have to remember is that credentials are at discretion of the SIDs and head coach so they can deny or approve credentials to anyone they want.
