I would prefer MTSU over La Tech or WKU. Close to Nashville for a long weekend and not a bad drive for most Eastern and Western schools.

MTSU and WKu left for greener pastures before… I say good riddance. #sorrynotsorry

Agreed on location, but MTSUs leadership is poor while WKU punches well above their budget.

WKU is only an hour from Nashville and not too far from Louisville. One has options... Nashville or Kentucky Bourbon tours🤣🤣

WKU would be an interesting add, given their on-field track record and high quality mascot.

On another note, I’m also in that camp which favors App taking the “wait and see” approach where conferences are concerned.

I actually think this is good. We don’t need another Louisiana school. We don't need 3 schools in Louisiana.

There is no value add for LaTech. If and when SBC adds any more teams there needs to be a net add in football. Period.

Don’t add teams just to add like CUSA and AAC. If a quality option enters the picture, then yes. But La Tech and MTSU don’t move the needle for me.

Meanwhile the UlM AD:

https://x.com/AaronsAces/status/1935812750610989472
That is coming from an AD at a school that has no aspirations other than to sit in a conference and spend minimal money. They just want a bunch of schools around them for an excuse to compete. They have been at bottom of football most years. They are probably one of the teams we would like to replace if most had their way. Not someone I want to get advice from on "improving" SBC.

The Massey Ratings really puts conferences and schools in perspective.

How about the Sun Belt East break off into their own conference, then add ECU, Charlotte and S Florida. Positions us to take in ACC leftovers once they get poached to death.

You are not alone in your thinking. I am advocating for a version of the same.

Until the disparity gap in revenue diminishes, or a conference folds entirely, there isn’t a scenario where an AAC team joins the Sun Belt.

I do not think Memphis has a reason to leave the AAC, but their history as a school is very similar to the current Sun Belt schools. It would also balance out the Sunbelt.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Memphis

Basically, every school sees itself as more important than the other schools see them.

6 years away from the revenue gap diminishing, unless the Sun Belt messes up something. The AAC signed a 12-year deal in 2019 so the last year is 2031-2032 academic year.

Six members only get half shares though so the gap isn’t as wide.
