We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

The length of the leash was game 2 in Drink’s one and only season. People wanted Roof fired after the Charlotte game. It worked out OK. DLo and his staff deserve support. Both in the peaks and valleys.

Re: Preseason Projections
Slightly different season in 2018 vs 2024.
Giving up 50 pts at home to a team that only scored 9 against us the previous year seemed not good.
If we were coming off an 11-2 year id expect to dismantle bad fbs teams like uncc.

We will see. This place is like every other gameday thread across the nation. Fans go from “champions” to “chumps” play-to-play.BallantyneApp wrote: ↑Wed Jun 11, 2025 9:34 amSlightly different season in 2018 vs 2024.

And every team that had some good talent on roster is getting raided by Power school or group teams that will pay more.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 11, 2025 9:40 amWe will see. Every season is basically a complete new team.

If we miss 2 bowl games in the next 3 seasons again, many including myself will be calling for changes again.

This, right here, needs to be burned into the brains of every fan of every school now, regardless of where you sit on the totem pole. While schools like us will feel this harder than others will, NOBODY is immune to getting poached.
The days of a five year plan are gone. Any coach trying to sell you that line needs to be put out to pasture. Pretty much every player that plays well for us will be gone the following year. That's where we are now.

Re: Preseason Projections
One good thing, the expectations will be lower so maybe we can catch some teams by surprise. That may help us pull off some wins.

Yes , again , you build your roster anew each year .But no , I don't see expectations being lower.Perhaps we are jaded and used to winning .I know I am.

Re: Preseason Projections
That was with the third worst team in the NFL with a quarterback that only played in 13 games in college. The second pick in the NFL that year and did not start that season until the starting quarterback was benched.BUTCH1991 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 11, 2025 6:57 amI just don't have expectations for success this year and not sure going forward with the money grab that is now college football. Changes had to be made and they were, so there is a glimmer of hope, but I just can't get on board YET to our new coach being the answer, but I hope he is. The ranking of worst offensive coordinator in the NFL still sticks in the back of my head. Hope he is THE man though! https://247sports.com/nfl/chicago-bears ... 110539571/
Even if you are the worst team in the NFL you are still in the top 32.
I believe in this new era of college football we have the right coach at the right time.

Re: Preseason Projections
Well, what do you expect considering the program went from champions to chumps. Fans will be disappointed for another losing season and I don’t believe that is controversial to say.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 11, 2025 9:40 amWe will see. Re: Preseason Projections
You can put me in the camp of having way lower expectations as a result of the changing landscape.
To be clear I obviously want us to win. I just have no clue how to approach what I expect us to look like year to year. Seems like a total crapshoot. We could be incredible or awful.
So yeah, zero expectations.

Re: Preseason Projections
I really think it will depend on coaching. Our talent on the offensive end last year was better than this year, but they were held back by terrible coaching. Our defensive talent was pretty bad last year so have to hope we have better talent this year, also coaching. I think if our defense improves, which I believe it will under DJ, and our offense is capable, we should be a 7-8 win team, or better.

Re: Preseason Projections
I was on the verge of getting excited for the up coming year. Neither of the articles provides me with any confidence. So low in the east!!! AND these folks ( and others) don't seem to think much of our coaching hire. Very poor expectations coupled with the upcoming changes to college athletics have sent me packing.hapapp wrote: ↑Thu Jun 12, 2025 5:20 amAthlon's predictions for the Belt: https://athlonsports.com/college-footba ... redictions

Re: Preseason Projections
These preseason rankings mean absolutely zero to me. We have a new coach and many new players. It's like a box of chocolates...you never know what you are gonna get.
I am excited about the new coaching staff. Will it take time for everyone to learn new coach expectations, systems, tweaks? You betcha.
Maybe we come out hot and surprise everyone. My hope is to see substantial improvement from beginning of the year to end of the year. What the record will be? No clue.
I am optimistic and definitely for the future. Time will tell if and when it shows up on the field.

Re: Preseason Projections
As far as coaches go, ours has nowhere to go but up according to those rankings. Someone has to be at the bottom just like someone has to be at the top.
