How often do we have a complete game shutout? I somewhat remember one recently but it can't be often.

Good job boys taking game one. We'll see their number 1 pitcher tomorrow.

Friday's scores from around the league. What a shutout from Caleb! That was a big pitching matchup coming in and Caleb really lived up to the billing!!

Congrats to Cross on complete game shutout!
Nice new ballpark. Far cry from the chicken wire backstop days.
Come on my friend, back in the day we were lucky to find chicken wire in West BY GOD Virginia ⚾🤪

Diving catch by us in foul territory vs Marsha was #2 on ESPN best plays!

One has to wonder where we’d be with a healthy Steensma on Friday, Cross on Saturday, and a healthy Welch on Sunday…

Is Steensma on a medical redshirt this year?

Or a healthy Marks on Sunday with Welch back in his middle relief role. Having that starting trio with Wilson and Welch as your next guys up, and then a combo of Best, Fisher, and Lewis to close would have been tough to beat. The ingredients where there if we could have stayed healthy.

Joseph Zamora. What a play it was! The wheels to get there and then the diving catch just before the wall. Amazing play!

That was a great catch. Also, the catch by Marsha infielder running out to right field was not an easy catch as well.

Very true. Some great defensive plays. Just glad App was on the better side of them!

Some of us older fans will really like the hat the team wears on Thursday vs JMU.

Sorry, I feel somewhat responsible for this poor showing as I was unable to watch today. Had a party for a friend who retired after 35 years as a firefighter. I knew better, but I went to the party and drank too much instead of watching and clearly let my App State fandom down. Don't worry, I'll be watching tomorrow when we take the series. Marshall sucks!

If no walks early yesterday, it was basically a 2-1 or 3-1 game. I would have liked our chances better in late innings. With that said, there is a reason Marsha has a decent ERA. To a certain degree, I judge our ability to pick up pitches by opposing pitchers by how 5 bats. He may not get on base ...but bat on ball. With the starter, even he did not get quality contact yesterday.
Let's take series today !!
