We really need to get some DL transfer players signed. We lost most of our entire DL production and have yet to bring in a single transfer player to fill the void. Need to get cracking quickly.

I'm sure with the pipeline was have to Arkansas, we might get 1 or 2 DL from them. That was a joke, but you are correct, we need help at the DL.

Just noticed this NM State OL grad transfer said he enjoyed the visit. He's been offered by most of the SBC it seems and UNLV/UNCC/Tulsa/WKU and others.

DL does seem to be the biggest need right now.

Admittedly I haven't even looked at like WR/TE on what we have coming back though.

As stated. #3 for the day. I'm still working on back building a profile for him but here's his posting. Grad Transfer with 1 year remaining.

At a minimum, Flowers should rate an extra half star for that flowing Adonis mane he’s rocking.

This is just an observation, "Oh it is terrible the players we are losing to the portal," and "Oh it is awesome the players we are gaining through the portal." It seems as though the two cancel each other.

However, it is human nature to think that what we lost is better than what we have and what we gain is better than what we have.

Looks like we landed another WR. Austin Peay transfer Jaden Barnes. Don’t know much about Austin Peay, haven’t kept up with FCS after we moved up. He appears to have had a pretty successful run with them though.

GO APPS!!

I'm sure Moose will be along soon.

Listed at 5'8" and 162lbs. So I assume fast.

1066 yds and 9TDs this past season

I like we are mixing in some productive FCS guys. They have a chip on their shoulder and have worked out well in past.

Wasn't Austin Peay where we got Bucky Williams from?

I believe so.

We also have an offer in with Bucky’s brother at UTC.

GO APPS!!

There's our stretch the field deep threat. WR room still needs work.

So we have an offer to Bucky Williams’s brother and just landed Jaden Barnes. Now
If we can get Bucky Barnes and his brother, we’ll be unstoppable.

We are close on several others , obviously hyper competitive for lineman. Yes. Bucky came from The Peay.

So, I am a football player in the TP. Its January,
If I want to play, don't you think I would take an offer very soon so I can be there for spring practice???
These kids are nuts that are waiting for a better offer

Unfortunately, I think for a lot of players, the "better offer" isn’t necessarily about a better program or more playing time. It feels like many are just focused on earning as much as they can now, knowing that making it to the next level is a long shot anyway. So, whoever offers the most upfront tends to win.

That said, I want to be clear—I’m in no way trying to belittle the players for this. I don’t blame them at all for taking advantage of what is essentially an unregulated free agency as amateurs. It’s just the reality of the current system. Of course, there are definitely some outliers who don’t fit this mold, but that’s just how it seems to me!
