His hiring was posted on the site somewhere. The link above says he’s an Offensive Assistant, but his background is mostly as an OL coach in the last 10 years.

Coach Haines is now on staff at unc-concord. Similar role as he had here. Hate to say it, but this ain’t gonna be the same charlotte in a few years. They have a good coach and possibly a program builder. That said, they still suck.

Feel like we are getting slightly younger with our coaching hires. Maybe that's where Dowell thinks the game is headed. Or maybe it's a money thing. Maybe some of both.
I like it. Get young, energetic coaches that hopefully know ball and recruit their butts off.

I find it interesting our last two hires have primarily both been d line coaches. Are we going to use that "extra" coach if DL is the OC to have two on the line? A DT and DE coach? Or is Shakir going to coach LBs since he has that experience too?

Two coaches for DL. DJ will be coaching LBs. Necessity due to scheme change.

We will be running more 4-2-5 so the need is bigger for an DT and DE coach vs an ILB and OLB coach.

Is that not what the Star we were just running essentially was? Or is the thought the reason it wasn't good is because we needed the dline to be better? As the season went on, they got better it seemed.
