Ok someone please please throw out a viable list of available coaches who have been D1 head coaches and have won consistently and have also been to and won bowl games. Of those on what I’m sure is a long list (cue sarcasm) how many would be available in our price range? It takes more than a great coordinator to win football games.

Don’t know about an entire list but the coach that UNCC got fits the bill, as does Neal Brown (although most winning was at Troy). In the media we have Dan Mullen, Rick Neuhiesel. Then there are guys like Brian Harsten, Jimbo Fisher, etc. thats more than an handful off the top of my head I really think the list is longer than any of us think.

If you consider an overall record (at GaSt) of 41-45 to be winning consistently.

Everyone else on the list won at least 60% of their games as a head coach.

Don’t ignore the last sentence in my post which is the most important IMO. I’m not just asking who are the available winning coaches I’m asking who could we afford? Jimbo? Would we want that clown show?

Never said we would want him but of everyone on the list, he could actually work for free if he wanted the job. I mean he got 77.5 million for just sitting around.

Well, D1 would include FCS, so if that's what you meant there should be a longer list that we could afford.

I took the criteria of going to and winning bowl games as limiting to FBS, but he could have had success at FCS and FBS as well, like JMU new coach.

On another note, just saw that Dan Mullen is the new UNLV head coach. He was clearly in play and willing to go to a G5. I really wonder if we contacted him or his people at all and if not I would like to know why. He is probably the best former college head coach that wasn't employed and he was clearly looking to get back into it.
