We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Biff Is Gone
Has the well of potential coaches really dried up in the past month? It was not a bad decision to wait for the reasons mentioned by the rational people here. SC deserved at least to finish the season. It also made financial sense to save some buyout. No matter if the decision was made a month ago or a few days ago the roster fallout was going to be bad. I’m sure that the potential guys we have to realistically choose from existed a month ago and 3 days ago. Doubtful in today’s college football world do we get a Jerry Moore 20 year guy but is there any upside to another one year Drink? Whoever we sign will have to probably find 20 plus players and then if somehow this magician goes 10-2 he’s gone and that process starts over.

Re: Biff Is Gone
I am enough of an adult to say I was wrong about Clark getting fired. MBA/Big 4, I am sorry I doubted you. Your boss does have impeccable information and he obviously shares it with you.
Do you feel better now, Eric? Now maybe you can apologize to all of us for the hundreds of times over the years that you’ve been wrong on so many of your takes. Do you have it in you?

In the last day alone there have been three public declines from:
Neal Brown
Tony Gibson
Bobby Petrino
The declines are embarrassing enough but the leaks are even worse. Almost feel bad for their fans. What a clown show their Athletic Department is.
Looks like UNCC believed they were a better job than reality.

Uncc has been trying to skip to step 3 since they announced football.
I hope they keep up the good work so we can continue growing our brand in our top market

Haven’t read all this thread and maybe I missed it, but my father is a UNCC grad and has told me both Gibson from NCSU and Neal Brown from WVU were offered the UNCC job and both passed on it.

Sounds like Brown definitely declined, Gibson “withdrew” - according to their board.

Re: Biff Is Gone
It was absolutely the right decision to let Clark go. If 2024 was supposed to be "the year" then next year could reasonably be expected to be worse. As someone mentioned on another thread, I would much rather be in a situation where we are constantly hiring a coach that was hired away due to the success we have been experiencing.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 7:01 amHas the well of potential coaches really dried up in the past month? Re: Biff Is Gone
Club Lit is ready for a reboot. Only 15 wins in the Healy era. They still have an overstock of confetti and party favors. It's reinstatement will be in the language in the new coach's contract.MAD Doctor wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 11:14 amSo far today, the following people have withdrawn their names from consideration for the UNCC coaching position:

Re: Biff Is Gone
The problem with Club Lit is that it looks too much like Club "female anatomy part" and it looks like they were having a hard time finding that location.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Re: Biff Is Gone
I believe Appalachian fired that Jerry More 20 Year Guy, Shawn Clark. I really think that Drinkwitz screwed over App this year by taking Nate Noel and in 2019 by wearing out its athletes, sort of what Jamey Chadwell did to Grayson McCall.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 7:01 amHas the well of potential coaches really dried up in the past month? Some people think, "Well he had five years", but he should have gotten six due to covid.
Hopefully, Shawn Clark will come back better and save Appalachian from itself someday...
I am just very unhappy with the decision and needed to tell someone.

Re: Biff Is Gone
Firing is the admission of failure on both sides. Always is. The Athletic Dept (employer) failed, the players failed as coworkers and the coach failed as employee. Firing is owning that failure and starting over. Everyone is butt hurt as a result. Including the customers.AppWyo wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 2:59 pmI believe Appalachian fired that Jerry More 20 Year Guy, Shawn Clark. Re: Biff Is Gone
This may sound strange, but I believe Jerry Moore is Shawn Clarks role model. It seems as though Shawn Clark is going through the same pains as a coach as Jerry Moore to become the coach and person he is today.mike87 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 3:28 pmFiring is the admission of failure on both sides. Hopefully, Shawn Clark will go somewhere to find what was missing, then return one day to be Appalachian's hero to take us all to the football promise land...

Re: Biff Is Gone
Word is that they want a similar style coach to Poggi, one that has money and connections, but better dressed. They are currently working on a special program for Todd Chrisley to take over.
