I believe it drops 12/3 or is it 12/2?AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 9:35 pmThat is what I was thinking. We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. There are a lot of good people i don't like. I'll like him a lot better if he is no longer associated with App State football.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 9:27 pmDon't despise him. Clark is a good person and great OL coach. He just isn't made to be a head coach. I think Clark will be fired on Monday after the way this game has gone.Yosefus wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 9:25 pmBALLGAME!
I have grown to despise Coach Clark. He is a horrible coach and has truly driven the program into the ground. Dispute that if you like. Screw this. To answer a previous question. I doubt the odds of him being fired are very high. Next year, I expect even worse

Zero penalties against JMU.
TEN penalties against GASO.
GASO didn’t win this game as much as we lost it. A very bitter loss.

Yep. My comment at the time was “the last time our players determined a hire we ended up with Capel”.falcoapp wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 9:36 pmI'll never forget feeling very uneasy that we didn't have a formal coaching search after Drink left.
I believe the players at that time had a big say in getting Clark hired. This was a major mistake.
Regardless, I went along with it and gave it a chance because I loved what Clark was selling after the way Drink left.
Ultimately, my suspicion was correct, Clark is not head coach material. He is too emotional and not savy enough for it.
He will always be a Mountaineer and a damn good one that has my support, but he will not take us to the next step, let alone maintain what our standing was when he took the keys to a very nice program.

First losing season since joining FBS.
First losing season in 11 years.
I take no joy in writing this. None.

That was some BS Cobb made up. The players wanted McMahon but a couple donors wanted the baby blue guy.app97 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 9:42 pmYep. In addition to coaching change, I’ll be fine with any of these players hitting the portal too. This season has been so disappointing it feels like we just need to push the reset button.

Need to just clean house....the whole house. Find someone who can recruit and and OC and a DC. Then give them some time to get some players. Get on the portal big time and use it both in and out.

I hear you, but people are also entitled to spend their few spare dollars elsewhere if their money doesn’t speak volumes when leadership makes unpopular decisions, no?BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 9:56 pmWere there some poor coaching decisions. Yes

Re: App @ GS -2.5
We need to find players that love to play. Love to practice. Love to work. Are pissed they weren’t enough stars. Didn’t win enough in high school. Even with NIL they are out there. In some school that is t heavily recruited. Corey Lynch went like 5-40 in HS, but loved to work out, loved the game, love to practice. Wasn’t recruited heavily. Ended up in The NFL. It takes work, not just throwing NIL. What about Jason Hunter?kicked off the damn team. Worked to come back, made it to the league. Hell look at Bucky. Transferred from WCU, worked his ass off, in the league. We need leaders. We need means not the ends. We need team players, not individuals. We need coaches that players believe in, not coaches that players question. It’s not rocket science. It’s basic. Look at JMU, SC, Boise, BYU. Army, Navy, Memphis. Teams that win 1 believe in the team and the coach to lead them 2 enjoy outworking everyone else 3 find players that others can’t find. That’s it. Thats the formula. That’s what we had for 40 years.

Re: App @ GS -2.5
I've held my tongue till the end of the season, that has come.
Need a change, we are slowly going backwards and this was a down year for the conference. we do nothing well, but have some really good players. One of the top G5 teams deserve better than a losing season. I love coach as a player and person, but he is not a CEO . . . too unsophisticated to lead a top G5, we need some new blood and an ass kicker to demand better fundamentals . . . out.
