We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Did anyone get hurt? We can argue the whether or not, or the degree of taste by our fans, but the court’s only concern is if any damage was done to the “aggrieved” party. There may have been, but I’ve yet to hear of any.ASU-FTW wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 9:34 amSome loser on their board is looking for attorneys to contact over the snowball matterappstate24 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 7:42 amExactly, if they win, you don’t hear much about it. Sounds more like a sore loser, similar to the ones crying they were ineligible for post season, saying it was unfair even though it was the rules everyone plays by and that they agreed to, ones us and GaSo both had to adhere to. Only we didn’t get special treatment and get to forgo our last season in FCS..

Lots of deflection. Lots of pearl clutching. I don’t condone poor behavior but I also have the aptitude to understand that they are college kids and college kids everywhere act like this. Making it seem like the behavior is tied directly to only App State students, the students of the Alma Mater we are supposed to support, is ridiculous. And I will continue to complain when I have bad experiences at Coastal, JMU, or wherever but I’m not going to reduce myself to someone who will go to their boards to cry about it.

Mental anguish and stress of potentially being hit..that's the legal angle if not actually hit .AppinVA wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 11:55 amDid anyone get hurt? Re: Snowballs
Went to the JMU game in Virginia last year. Stood for two hours smack in the middle of a raucous Game Day crowd. Loved every second of it. Lots of good-natured back and forth. Fans were cordial during the tailgate, authorities dealt with a couple of JMU students in our section who crossed the line during the game, and afterward the walk back to the car was uneventful. All-in-all a wonderful experience. I came away glad JMU is in our conference and that we can consider them a rival.

Re: Snowballs
That is 100% correct. The one time I went to a jmu game the fans sucked, and I will not go back. That is absolutely NO excuse for the way some of our fans have become over the last few years. I have been embarrassed more than once by their behavior over the last few seasons. There are reasons, but no excuses, especially that asinine " they are just college kids". One because that is a stupid excuse and two because some are past college age.

They are just college kids is used here often.bcoach wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 1:09 pmThat is 100% correct. The one time I went to a jmu game the fans sucked, and I will not go back. Re: Snowballs
Thank you. And if it wasn’t apparent I’m not calling the App fanbase classless or making a point about the game itself. JMU lost and App was the better team Saturday. We had great interactions with most people with a few already mentioned exceptions. I do think some things need to be addressed within KBS itself and that was my only point. Hoping you all can start some discussions within the App community and athletic department about how to manage security, alcohol consumption, etc. within KBS because Id love to go back and probably will, but I wouldn’t bring my children again based on our most recent experience.AppState89 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 9:28 amI also want to apologize for what happened this weekend outside of the game's result too. Our students are getting as bad as CCU and Ga. Southern students. Maybe they have been all along, but I have never noticed it until this past weekend. As for a 50s year old man yelling at a child is CHILDLESS & CLASSLESS!!!! That is a true asshole right there. It's sad that fans would say KBS is getting like a NFL stadium (truth is the truth) as some NFL fans are totally out of control, wanting to fight the other teams fans. I've seen it at the Panther's games too. Several fight round me the 8 years or so I was going to all the games. Sorry again for the snowball to your car and the way the fans acted towards your child. App State can do better for sure. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!07Duke wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 9:51 amAs a JMU fan, we were at the game two years ago and again this year. Two years ago we had no issues out of the ordinary--some mostly good natured heckling but thats to be expected. This year, was a bit different.
On Friday while driving through campus we had a 12x12 inch or larger snow "boulder" thrown onto our windshield. I have JMU plates, maybe this was not targeted who knows, but it was very dangerous. In Virginia this is a felony, I'm not sure about in NC.
During the game we (including my young child) were heckled by students, and one grown man in his 50s or so was making comments directly at my child. As some other posters have mentioned the atmosphere in KBS now has an NFL feel, and I dont mean that in a good way. Many folks, not just students, at least this Saturday, were just way too liquored up.
Fortunately, I wasn't pelted with ice or snow, but I was perplexed at how it was being thrown onto the field, onto the visiting sideline, and from the 200 section down to the 100 section without any recourse--security, police, and officials just standing around. And yes, our section was not cleared of ice or snow, so most of what was being thrown was melted snow (ice).
I've been to a lot of away football games and this Saturday stood out as pretty egregious. I can tolerate heckling and drunkeness to an extent, but something needs to change at KBS to bring it back to a place where home and away fans can safely bring their families.

Re: Snowballs
Never suggested its only App State students/fans that have shown ill behavior. But, because it happens elsewhere is no reason to think its ok at KBS. I accept the fact that it is going to happen, but no reason to turn a blind eye or condone it.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 12:01 pmLots of deflection. Lots of pearl clutching. Re: Snowballs
Let’s have some class and stop the bad language, etc. College football is a family gathering for many and everyone needs to realize what is out of bounds behavior. I took my kids at a young age to games and never had a negative experience and now my grandkids shouldn’t be exposed to the current atmosphere at some games.
