We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Snowballs
I am going to leave it at this. It was not just students for one thing. Another is hitting someone sitting in handicap in the back of the head just isn't funny. That is assult and the guilty party should be arrested. Now student having a snowball fight is kids having fun. Ice on the field could lead to injury.
My last point is that the situation at the tunnel was no big deal to the players and they were encouraging it.

Tom Speed: your honor, these students’ actions are simply misunderstood. They were trying to help the opposing team hydrate by giving them frozen water.

We don't want to be like Coastal and GS.
I mean, I’m pretty sure someone took a dump on a Coastal Carolina fan’s windshield circa 2006. That was back in the day of the yellow lifeguard stands in the Raley Parking lot tailgate.

Tailgating was so much fun that they built three resident halls and a dining facility in those tailgating spots. Re: Snowballs
As a JMU fan, we were at the game two years ago and again this year. Two years ago we had no issues out of the ordinary--some mostly good natured heckling but thats to be expected. This year, was a bit different.
On Friday while driving through campus we had a 12x12 inch or larger snow "boulder" thrown onto our windshield. I have JMU plates, maybe this was not targeted who knows, but it was very dangerous. In Virginia this is a felony, I'm not sure about in NC.
During the game we (including my young child) were heckled by students, and one grown man in his 50s or so was making comments directly at my child. As some other posters have mentioned the atmosphere in KBS now has an NFL feel, and I dont mean that in a good way. Many folks, not just students, at least this Saturday, were just way too liquored up.
Fortunately, I wasn't pelted with ice or snow, but I was perplexed at how it was being thrown onto the field, onto the visiting sideline, and from the 200 section down to the 100 section without any recourse--security, police, and officials just standing around. And yes, our section was not cleared of ice or snow, so most of what was being thrown was melted snow (ice).
I've been to a lot of away football games and this Saturday stood out as pretty egregious. I can tolerate heckling and drunkeness to an extent, but something needs to change at KBS to bring it back to a place where home and away fans can safely bring their families.

Isn't littering an item subject to a citation? Maybe work on the streamer littering issue at away games....We really need security to step up at KBS to monitor this more strictly in the future....

I was going to say, 2 years ago we showed JMU respect and they responded by littering in our stadium. If you’re not going to be respectful of other people’s stadium, don’t expect it to be received.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 10:18 amIsn't littering an item subject to a citation? Re: Snowballs
The two aren't remotely in the same vein. I'm tired of our folks making excuses for the bad behavior. We can squawk all we want about our visits to other stadiums but it doesn't justify what's going on in KBS. I dare say, the streamers left behind look like nothing compared to the way Miller Hill looks like after a game in KBS. Frankly, I'm ashamed of how our folks behave. Its time to stop running the PSA about treating our guests and officials with respect because apparently no one pays attention to it.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 10:18 amIsn't littering an item subject to a citation? I agree 100% but I also will say the same must be done at your place. The last time I and my family were there we swore we would never go back. Re: Snowballs
I was sober and enjoyed every second of them launching harmless snowballs at everything and everyone. It is what it is - they’re drunk college students. People forget what it was like to be exactly that at one point in their life. The snow was half melted slush, nobody is getting CTE from it, other than the folks listening to the boomers on this thread moan about everything.
Re: Snowballs
I dont disagree with you at all if those things are happening at BFS. I also dont throw streamers at any away games and I dont think any JMU fans should be doing it. I dont sit with the students at JMU home games so I'm certain I am insulated from their bad behavior as are many App fans at App games. I fear abhorrent behavior is largely societal and not unique to any particular institution, but thats not any excuse.bcoach wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 10:57 amI agree 100% but I also will say the same must be done at your place. My only only point and observation is that for whatever reason Saturday was unique from KBS two years ago, or any other SBC, SEC, ACC, or CAA stadium I have been to--I can handle heckling, but grown adults cursing and heckling pre-k kids, is as I would hope we can agree on, over the line and unusual. Many App fans also had young children including infants at the game in carriers and I can assure you that what was being thrown in the stands would not have been "harmless" had it hit one of them in the head.
