We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Candidates
The Clark defenders usually appear on MMB 24-48 hours after every loss. I am surprised it has taken this long to show up since the CCU loss.

Unc-cheat bball has started. The part timers who are just “happy to be here” have other things catching their attention

I don't feel strongly about Tre one way or the other. I'd just like to see him have >1 successful season before giving him consideration as an HC candidate.J_Mountaineers wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 11:34 amWhat he’s done in less than a year at ETSU is nothing short of remarkable. He’d be a natural fit in Boone.Stonewall wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 10:29 amTre Lamb has ETSU in position to take a share of the SoCon title in his first year. I’ve watched a few of their games including yesterday against Western . Both teams in the running for the championship. I believe ETSU set an attendance record in the game. Second string QB looked good.

Re: Candidates
I know he doesn't check the box to a lot of people on here in terms of experience, wanting to get out of the family, etc...
But, what about DJ Smith? Heck of a recruiter, currently the co-DC at Mizzou, was the only keeper from Satts staff that Drink took with him, and knows the App State Football way.
He's coached 4 different defenses (Woody's 3-4, Roof's multiple with 4-3 base, Wilks aggressive 4-3. and now Batoon's 4-2-5 base) so obviously is well versed in that regard too.

Re: Candidates
Woody is 63 and never gotten above DC. Either he doesn’t want to be a HC or something keeps him from it.
I’d take him in a heartbeat as DC though if he wanted to get back home.

I’m not endorsing Lamb as the guy. If he’s interested he should be considered based upon what he has done at the FCS level more or less bringing two programs back from the dead. Or a coma.

Re: Candidates
Being an HC is as much about being the "CEO of the program" as anything else. It's more than just coaching football; you have to be an effective administrator, recruiter politician, diplomat, spiritual advisory, people leader, amateur psychologist, fundraiser, etc.
It's a VERY difficult job and there aren't many people who can do it well.

I think it’s actually much more than “coaching ball “ much more about hiring and managing staff, and players. Along with raising money.Bootsy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 12:41 pmBeing an HC is as much about being the "CEO of the program" as anything else. Re: Candidates
Clearly Tre Lamb, for all of those. He could have App back and it could be by next year. This team needs a shot of life and right now it’s taken on the personality of guys who feel comfortable in their jobs.DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 10:35 amThink fit and logic when making a choice guys...
1) Boone/App State fit -
2) Salary -
3) Staff salary affordable, etc.
4) Style of play - emphasis O or D side of the ball
5) Recruiting Plan

Re: Candidates
I’d be surprised if it’s Tre Lamb. I don’t think he will want the optics of being at 3 different schools in 3 years. Gotta show a little loyalty on the resume.ericsaid wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 2:03 amClearly Tre Lamb, for all of those. He could have App back and it could be by next year. Re: Candidates
There’s no such thing as loyalty in college football. It’s all about what you can do for me right now. Lamb will come if offered.MrCraig wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 7:38 amI’d be surprised if it’s Tre Lamb. I don’t think he will want the optics of being at 3 different schools in 3 years.
