Yeah, I mean the other option would be like what Western is doing and playing Wofford at home without spectators. Playing at Wake Forest is the next-best option to play in Boone.
I will sit most anywhere if I can make it to a game....will just be good to see the young men play ..hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 10:05 amYeah, I mean the other option would be like what Western is doing and playing Wofford at home without spectators. Curious how many on campus students, how many off the campus yet local to Boone students /alumni/fans typically attend games. I suspect many off campus students, alumni/fans have apartment/house flooding or road blockages so that's potentially a non starter, and how many out of towners usually come in for games. I think hotels are typically booked out but I'm not sure as I have never booked one.hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 10:05 amYeah, I mean the other option would be like what Western is doing and playing Wofford at home without spectators. Agree, and not that it matters but there isn't a bad seat at KBS or Groves Stadium (forget what they call it now)BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 10:17 amI will sit most anywhere if I can make it to a game....will just be good to see the young men play ..hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 10:05 amYeah, I mean the other option would be like what Western is doing and playing Wofford at home without spectators. Does that mean we host in Boone at limited capacity to make back some money...or host full boar no restrictions? 3 weeks away.
If you go to Kyle Fletchers forget the BBQ. It’s nothing special. Get a burger, the burger is special!!!asumba95 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 8:47 amKyle Fletchers - never been there but will check it out since it's not far from CLT.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 7:21 pmYou really need to get out more and to the Eastern part of the stateDenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 7:12 pmTop 5 Bar B Que spots in NC

Other than smoking pork, etc. would you recommend a Trager(or any pellet grill) for steak, burgers and the like? Or would gas be the better option for those? I’m looking to upgrade from an old charcoal grill.Black Saturday wrote: ↑ I use a Trager which has done well - no issues, Am interested in buying a RecTec.
I have a Trager, it’s very easy to cook on but unless you get one of the high end units with a “smoke” option they don’t really put much smoke on the food. Mine will only really hold about 475 degrees, I like to cook steaks and burgers at around 600 degrees so again the Trager has limitations. All that said I use it all the time and it does a great job and is very easy to use. To really put smoke on something or sear steaks or burgers I prefer my green egg. It’s not like a Trager in that you have to learn how to work the vents to set your temperature but once you get that down it will hold a temperature like nothing else. You can cook from 200 degrees to 700 degrees. And you can throw the smoke on anything. You can cook pretty much anything on either. To make your choice my difficult I’ll give you another option. I also love my blackstone griddle. Never thought I would cook a steak on a griddle but they are fantastic. I probably use the griddle more than either grill.AppYosef! wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 1:50 pmOther than smoking pork, etc. would you recommend a Trager(or any pellet grill) for steak, burgers and the like? Highly recommend a Yoder 640s. They are expensive but definitely versatile and worth it IMO. I can smoke, grill over open flame or use the flat top griddle like a black stone.AppYosef! wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 1:50 pmOther than smoking pork, etc. would you recommend a Trager(or any pellet grill) for steak, burgers and the like? Agree with Ray Nathan's, ate there last night, but wasn't impressed with Noble. The menu just seemed too big city and uppity for a BBQ place.
