Re: Clemson game thread and discussion
Yes, I was just pointing out that an at large G5 team(not the highest ranked G5 champion) would have to be one of the other 7th highest ranked teams. That would allow two G5 teams, but it’s unlikely.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 12:08 pmThis year it is the top 5 highest ranked conference champions so a G5 will get in.KentHogan wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 11:56 amI think a G5 team can only get an at large bid if they’re one of the top 12 ranked teams in the country.ericsaid wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 9:04 amIt does feel different. I think, for the first time, the power conference opponent is one of consequence. It matters a great deal to how the CFP will shake out, and it will be a playoff game atmosphere. A win, at night, in Death Valley would certainly signify something.CornCobPipes wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 8:00 amWho is with me in thinking this game will start out with the most live viewership for any App game in history? If it was on a mainstream network with more accessibility, I would have no doubt.
What would make it better is if Boise State also beat Oregon. And obviously it’s a long season so anything can happen but what would a CFP with App, Memphis, and Boise all vying for a spot look like? Could we get a G5 auto bid and a G5 at large?
Per NCAA: The new 12-team College Football Playoff field will include the five highest-ranked conference champions, which will receive automatic bids. The seven highest-ranked teams remaining will round out the 12-team format. The top four teams will receive a first-round bye to the quarterfinals

Safe flight. We flew out of BWI on Thursday late afternoon. Greenville airport is awesome. You just walk across to rental car facility. No shuttle.

Had no idea there interviewee and Play by Play caller is an ‘84 APP alumnus, IHe does hit the nail on the head with the head about the foundation being laid four our football program’s success story.
On the other hand, I wonder if he ever went to Mother Fletchers, Antlers, or PB Scott’s, and Horn in the West? Or watched the sunset in Holley’s Tavern

I wonder how many App alums call games for other teams. It is cool that App uses their alums to call games.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 6:52 amHad no idea there interviewee and Play by Play caller is an ‘84 APP alumnus, IHe does hit the nail on the head with the head about the foundation being laid four our football program’s success story.

Farmer needs to be out there over Clarke. Same issues from prior years.

Agreed. Clarke just isn't fast enough. He should be the backup. Hope Sloan makes some adjustments back there because we can't give up deep balls.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 7:11 pmFarmer needs to be out there over Clarke. Same issues from prior years.
