Who is with me in thinking this game will start out with the most live viewership for any App game in history? If it was on a mainstream network with more accessibility, I would have no doubt.

It does feel different. I think, for the first time, the power conference opponent is one of consequence. It matters a great deal to how the CFP will shake out, and it will be a playoff game atmosphere. A win, at night, in Death Valley would certainly signify something.

What would make it better is if Boise State also beat Oregon. And obviously it’s a long season so anything can happen but what would a CFP with App, Memphis, and Boise all vying for a spot look like? Could we get a G5 auto bid and a G5 at large?

I think a G5 team can only get an at large bid if they’re one of the top 12 ranked teams in the country.

This year it is the top 5 highest ranked conference champions so a G5 will get in.

Per NCAA: The new 12-team College Football Playoff field will include the five highest-ranked conference champions, which will receive automatic bids. The seven highest-ranked teams remaining will round out the 12-team format. The top four teams will receive a first-round bye to the quarterfinals

Yes, I was just pointing out that an at large G5 team(not the highest ranked G5 champion) would have to be one of the other 7th highest ranked teams. That would allow two G5 teams, but it’s unlikely.

Agreed. Clarke just isn't fast enough. He should be the backup. Hope Sloan makes some adjustments back there because we can't give up deep balls.
