How about calling them old teenagers/young adults? My god the semantics on some of these topics gets so out of hand. Let's hope that our basketball team doesn't overlook or get over confident and remains focused on one game at a time.

I have no issue with whatever terminology someone chooses. In any event, thinking back to last season certain kids and perhaps even moreso their parents became a significant distraction . Those kids and their parents “are no longer with the team “. The maturity level of our current roster impresses me , a credit to their parents.

Well this one isnt really semantics. The government and our society already decided this one. Its a very different mindset when referring to someone's actions when you call them a kid vs adult. Think about that. 18 or older we call adults regardless of the age gap between you and the person you refer to. So yes, it does matter. If 18-22 are kids then we need to change our laws so they can't vote, serve in the military, buy cigarettes, buy alcohol, or a myriad of other things. Just because they have the privilege of going to college doesn't make them any less of an adult than any other 18-22 year old that joined the work force, had a family, joined the military etc. 60+ year old curmudgeons on a message board seem to always forget such things. Since they are adults they make adult decisions like any other adult. Its a bit unfortunate that so many adults disparage them by calling them kids.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever read. 18 -22 year olds make many kid like decisions. Hell people your age make some pretty bad decisions like that post you made. I was a kid when I was 18, no matter what the government called me.

Everyone can make bad decisions including your viewpont. The difference is that you are an adult and have theoretically gained a basic knowledge of life unlike an actual kid. Unless you still identify as a child which I apologize if I mislabeled you initially. Even if it is a "kid like" decision you are still an adult making that decision. These young adults are still adults as they have theoretically gained that basic knowledge of life that you attain from 0-18 in the USA. Other nations you are considered an adult much earlier.

Our team is filled with young adults making young adult decisions about being game focused and practice focus. As I said before I think they will be ready because the seem very prepared mentally as adults and physically. Next time you see one of them let them know you think they are still a child.

BPI has us at 73 and Kenpon has us at 81. To me that makes us the 77th best DI basketball team. That puts us in the top 25 percent. It has been awhile since our football team has been in the top quarter of the FBS. And yet the cabin talks about everything BUT the team. That's kind of a shame.

I've said for years that if our football team could rank around 40th or so most years that's the top 3rd- pretty darn good. To be halfway through the basketball season and ranked top 25% is really good. For perspective folks need to just view how many good teams there are out there. This season needs to be embraced.

I’m confused, I’ve seen 3-4x more engagement on here related to the basketball team this year and mostly positive certainly a higher ratio than most years.

Is anyone else here showing up tonight for the Red Panda show?

Someone told me it's got something to do with how people rode unicycles projecting love, joy and happiness. Then, the evil Communists took over spreading darkness & ruining the circus culture. But against the odds, theTHE RED PANDAescaped, trekking across the Himalayas by unicycle and now goes all over the world spreading unicycle love.

If you don't show up for the THE RED PANDA show tonight, you're a friend of Communism.

Oh BTW, the opening act tonight is a basketball game.

So the theme is App State's triumph over communism.

Boo Communists. Hooray App State!

I can't make it tonight, but I hope the students show up and give some love for the basketball team. They can turn it into a really good time for all and a tough place to play, if they all show!!!!!!!!!

As of today App is 77 in the NET. Georgia State is 186. We’ve effectively switched places with them over the last 4 years. Crazy to see our rise and their fall. But they’re still +500 and average more ppg than we do.

Shot blocking, MAKING FREE THROWS, and turnovers are going to be critical. Win those 3 phases and I think the good guys will triumph.

In conference games, they average 84 a game. In conference games, we give up 61 a game. Our respective average margins (offense v. defense) is 9 points. Low scoring game would appear to favor us, the opposite, them.

Eight or so point favorite. At home, with the students back. I hope we can do at least 3k. These are the kind of games we have to win if we want to win the conference.

I wrote that this morning when I was half awake. Trying to start a frigid Wednesday with a warm dose of satire. I must admit I expected a more visceral response from some here. Maybe those folks don't support App Basketball or read the BB threads?

Anyway, if there's a big crowd at Holmes tonight...you can be assured they're showing up to give communism a finger in the eye.
GO APP!
