You know. It’s entirely possible that he transferred for different reasons.

Kid should have waited one more year.

Yep, one injury away from being the starter. It’s happened before. :)

But maybe he was two injuries away because he was passed as the #2 as well??

Or, maybe there's something completely unrelated to football going on in his life and he needs to take a break?

We've seen a few key players enter the transfer portal and just never play football again because they no longer loved the game.

He didn’t leave for playing time or lack of. Don’t believe everything that you hear as being everything.

Everyone had high hopes for Berger. No one more disappointed than him. I hate an injury derailed his chance here and hope he finds a place to excel and his injury wasnt debilitating. If he had stayed and couldnt play I would have honored his scholly... No need to speculate any further.

NIL will turn college athletics into even more of the have’s and have not’s. Afraid we will fall into the second bucket and will be raided every offseason. Yes we can pick up transfers but only what well funded NIL programs don’t want. I doubt we have many fans willing to send hard earned money to guy they don’t know who could up and leave the following season. Even if they do if the guy doesn’t produce to lofty expectations do you think they would be willing to pony up year after year? On top of that there will people making a lot of money setting up NIL programs with no oversight and plenty of headroom to pad their bank account. Crazy times.

Expect the divide in college sports will widen dramatically over the coming years.

Who has been raided, exactly? McLeod left, but who else? As far as I can tell, he is the first, and only to this point, guy who left due to NIL.

I am not sending money period. I don't care how long they stay. I contribute to Yosef, and buy season tickets. I contribute plenty to their education and recreation. Pay me or I'm leaving? Don't let the door hit you in the ass.

I have said this several times but if the big time programs and the NCAA and the TV networks want to keep the cash cow going they better find a way to keep things somewhat competitive. If I was trying to solve this problem I would have some lawyers figuring out how it could be modeled to some degree after the NFL. There has to be some control over how much teams can spend and how players can move between teams.

There will be a point when fans become so disenchanted with college athletics booster clubs will feel the hit.

Maybe that’s a state of what we’ve been the past 3-4 years…
Not many good enough to make the jump.
It’s a little of both. Kids want to stay, but we haven’t had the studs that can make the jump lately outside of a few.

Over the last 10 years or so of the the pandemic players who have transferred out of App how many landed in what might be perceived as an upgrade? How many who transferred out have seen increased playing time? Did the "stud" IMG QB end up anywhere?
