I don't like it anymore than y'all, but I suppose it's their right to tow if they want.
Times are tough...looks like the property owner is looking for additional income streams.

Which is their choice. It’s also the choice of others to decide to frequent their other businesses if they have them.

Just saying what if 1,000 fans decided to use big old Walmarts parking lot for the game? Of maybe 2,000 fans? That mean big box store just wants to be a jerk.
Point is it is always ok if a few folks do it but point becomes more obvious if everybody does it.

It really does not matter if one car or a thousand...Wally World has made an elective decision to not allow people to park in their lot during the game. They are not unlike many businesses in Boone on Game Days. If people want to boycott Wally World and do want to give their money for goods and services because of this policy, that is their right as well. With that said, I do not think Wally World will miss it...and the customers, that could care less about football, are probably happy as the parking lot is less congested...AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 7:19 pmJust saying what if 1,000 fans decided to use big old Walmarts parking lot for the game? Re: Warning - don't park at Wal Mart!
Nobody has to like Walmart. It's your choice, but WM in Boone has always stocked a pretty impressive App State section and provided some decent licensed gear at good prices. I would be surprised if they would do anything that would alienate App fans, so I have to think the owner is the one doing this. That said, Walmart is in a position to intervene and has more leverage than anyone else. Seems to me, the owner is missing an opportunity. Rather than towing, they should mark off a portion of the lot and collect a fee for game day (long term) parking. Walmart would benefit because they would have lots of people at their location before and after the game. Empty spaces aren't doing anyone any good.

I agree with this...even past wally world down by food lion...there is way more parking spaces available as compared spaces needed ...maybe more so there than in the actual wally world lot. There are many missed opportunities like this in and around Boone for GameDaysYosef84 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 12:17 pmNobody has to like Walmart. This is an amazing thread to me. Private Property owner tows unauthorized vehicles.
As it should be.
No one has the right to park on private property, unless it is for intended use.

absolutely correct. My point wasn't that they didn't have a right, but that it is a missed opportunity. Designate a portion and charge a fee. It's a win/win.

Re: Warning - don't park at Wal Mart!
Let's put a bow on this topic, shall we? Key takeaways:
1. The rule of law guarantees us the "right of quiet enjoyment" when it comes to private property
2. Regardless of who owns it, the Walmart lot is private property
3. Owners of private property aren't required to post signs to let you know if/when they'll tow your sled
ERGO...don't park your sled at Walmart on game day.

They’d make more money if they’d quit towing and instead set up a whiskey stand near the bottom of that lot.
