Salaries will only increase when it becomes as important as concerts, football, and all the other distractions that we can somehow afford in spite of being too broke to pay teachers and cops.
You understand that the citizens don’t pay teachers right? The state legislature does and they’re negligent for not paying our teachers more.

Everyone wants to pay teachers more but our legislature won’t do it. Wonder why.
I sincerly hope you don't believe that.
Care to enlighten me on how citizens pay teachers?

Very easy. Look at your paycheck or your quarterly taxes. That is where the money comes from. Too many folks have the mindset that money comes from the government. It does not. It comes from you and me and that is the mindset we all need to have. It is YOUR money paying for teachers, cops, govt employees, and so on. Those politicians only allocat it and there is a HUGE difference. It is up to the citizens to determine who it is that does that. Now if the same people keep getting elected that means the majority is very happy with the way things are. It means that education has a very low priority with todays citizens. That is what I believe to be true. I believe that folks are much more concerned with football, concerts, vacation, brewpubs and on and on than they are with education. Now this is all just my own opinion. One thing is for sure though and not my own opinion is that WE pay teachers not politicians.

The "government " has no money , zero .It has the ability to tax , fine and access fees to it's citizens .Education remains , by far the largest expenditure item in the State budget .The same is likely true for NC counties.

You may be surprised how many WE's don't pay more taxes than they take....I would bet you are more of a taker than a payer....most are. People think they pay taxes but by the time they get their services they are net takers...."WE" are paying very few of the teachers salaries. Don't get me started on printed money. WE need to be paying more in taxes....most WE's are not paying taxes at a level that matters, they are taking more than they are paying.

Ok I will be very specific. " I " am paying more than I am taking, and " I " am not alone. So your bet was a poor one. I will not judge where you fall as I don't make blind acusations when I have no idea who I am speaking to.

My brain starts to hurt when I think about how teachers are also taxed on the income they make that is paid to them by the government that is raised from other citizen’s taxes. So money gets taken out of your paycheck, given to me, but then a little of that is also taken out of my paycheck to give someone else. Wut.

Wow, just wow... I knew Clark was to blame for this... he may be a vampire as well as he coulda been around in 1913 since taxes were first enacted in the 16th Amendment. :D

The Japanese word 'Kuchi zamishi' is the act of eating when you're not hungry because your mouth is lonely.

Just watched the first half and a bit of the 3rd of USA v USM and I will say now for everyone to hear.....If we can't beat the every living dog out of USM in front of a homecoming crowd ..... then we need a change at the top. That team is inept.

Agreed. They are the one bad team left that we play. If we lose to them or struggle then I’ll have no doubt that a change will be made.

We should beat USM by at least 30. So it’ll be by a FG

Indeed but I want to see what happens. I don’t want to jump to any conclusions until we see how the team looks. I am very interested to see how the ODU game goes.

Donors have been calling.

Hopefully with a name in mind. And that name should be the Duke Defensive Coordinator.

They are calling. If we lose this game, then we will have to win out for him to keep his job. The frustrating thing is we have talent. A great staff could go 9-3 or 10-2 with this team, an average staff would go 8-4 or 7-5, and a bad staff would go 6-6 or worse. Let’s see how we finish.
