Miller hill

I’ve been a critic of the hill for years but this picture here is incredible. I’m not really sure there’s anything like it in sports with that many Students.

Nice pic!

Extend the hill 20-30 ft closer to the field and see what it looks like then. :)

Near the end of the game, when it was raining, they played a few songs and the entire hill was moving. It looked awesome.

I’m a fan of the hill. Only suggestion, put field turf on the hill so it doesn’t become a mess when it rains.

Forgive me for my Risk Management background, but that looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

Seems like it would be relatively inexpensive to put concrete stands similar to the student section, level with current hill incline. Just a rectangular section the width of the field. You could still keep hill in the corners

We need more Miller Hills in sports. What it's all about.

I dated a girl at App who broke a bone sledding down the old hill. Or at least that’s what she told me (and I have my reasons for adding that last part)

I agree, wouldn't change a thing. Spend the money somewhere it's needed more.

Agree. Preserve Miller Hill (grass and trees) in the South End Zone at all cost. It's what makes KBS picturesque, unique and a bucket list stadium for all college football fans.

Accidents will happen no matter what you do to try to prevent them. How many games have been played over the years with crowds on the hill? I'd have to think that as a percentage the number of serious injuries is very low. From my seat in 202 the student section below us and the hill looked amazing.

With due respect, I disagree. Miller Hill has a nostalgic aspect but the reality is that it is now overflow seating for every game. The view is offers if just bodies crammed together on a hill. There is a safety issue and we simply cannot continue charging premium prices to sit on wet grass. If we had unlimited resources and spaces, sure ....expand the other options and keep the hill. The hill is the obvious option for expanding our legit seats.

No intent to disrespect the opinion you offer. I just think it will be necessary and logical to expand that option.

I bet you people twist ankles or worse traversing up and down the steep stairs of west side. There have been fans fall off of upper decks in stadiums. Crap is gonna happen so you can’t prevent every possible problem. Hiking in the mountains has risk but people do it anyway. Until we put in seats I am not losing any sleep over it.

The crowd was packed and it looked great for our school.

Capt Ed you have a boat for your mime. How often do people have accidents on boating outings? I hear about them all the time yet people are not deterred.

Just tongue and cheek point

Wasn't there a movie several years ago that had a character whose job was risk management? He was extremely anal and over analyzed every decision based on statistical data. It was funny as I remember.

Along Came Polly? That was an amazing movie if that’s the one you are referring to. Ben Stiller, Jennifer Aniston and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

I personally fully enjoyed watching the students sliding down the impromptu slip 'n slide, aka Miller Hill. They were having the best time and will remember that for years... well, maybe. If the students have fun at the games, they will come back, and our students ARE the home field advantage at KBS.
