Agree with the above comment about Boone. It’s not for everyone and football won’t make an offer commit-able until the player has visited.

Baseball can be a higher hurdle as weather does play a roll for practice and games. It probably impacts football to a certain extent as well...
So we have a coach that is winning in a location that is probably more difficult to attract players. My personal opinion is that he coach deserves extension and a raise with said extension.

Not to mention he has been heavily involved in improving facilities.

Yep...agreed..and the facilities are still below average...so he has that to overcome.as well to get recruits.

I don't pay much attention to SOS or RPI or "whatever" any computer ranking says - and that goes for football, basketball and baseball. That being said, I saw a post a couple of days ago that our "whatever" was 100. To me, this makes no sense - we have played #1 WF, #6 WVU 2X, #8 Coastal 3X, #14 Campbell 2X, #15 Duke. That makes 9 games against Top 15 teams - so I guess SOS or "whatever" only counts if you win???

Our SOS is 93. We are 1-8 v Q1 and 14-6 v Q4. More than 40% of our games are against Q4 teams. That likely pulls our SOS down a bit. Among Belt teams, only Marshall has a worse record v Q1 teams.

Its confusing as hell. But here's the up to date SOS and the other opponents as well. Looks like some teams they played are in the mid 200's

It's like in the NCAA selection for the Big Dance - if I'm not mistaken Clemson beat NCSU 3 times, had a better ACC record and basically the same overall record and some computer says NCS gets the bid over Clemson - the team beat them 3X head to head - just makes me mad - I probably wouldn't make it in today's world of coaching because I hate analytics :(

Somewhere I read, being 100 RPI in baseball is liking being ranked 40th in FBS football. There are 305 baseball teams. We would not be talking about firing a coach if they were 40th in football. However, We are 9th in Sunbelt RPI which I hope we can move up compared to peers. Kudos to the Sunbelt for having 9 teams in the top 100. 10 in the top 101 RPI.

Yes, we're playing in a top 5 conference with a team that has won the world series, another that has 6 or 7 consecutive years with 40+ wins and hosted a regional last year, another that also hosted a regional last year, another that has 28 total appearances. That's like football moving to the ACC with one of the lowest budgets, recruiting disadvantages, and no significant history.

Would be higher but we slipped vs Queens and ULM, pretty bad team. And UNCA. That’s a pretty good spot for us, you have to remember how many good ball clubs there are in the southeast alone.

I would say that considering the fact that our team ERA is over 8 per game and unless it went down Sunday we were next to last in the Belt. I'm willing to bet that none of the top 50 in the RPI have staffs who have those types of numbers. Just score one more run than you allow baby!

For the heck of it I wanted to see. App is 262 out of 295 in ERA (7.72)

With Hamilton in the rotation App has to find 2 starters and 3 more relievers (huge ask I know) for next year.

Tut will be back next year and I would say Cross will remain as a weekend starter. My concern would be Hamilton and the draft or someone poaching him with NIL $$$

IMO he's not getting drafted. As far as the TP he already transferred unless its as a grad transfer. Was Tut's injury TJ? Would love Cross to come out of the BP

If I were a Major League scout, I’d love to have in my organization a top-three starting pitcher from the nation’s fifth-best conference.

Listen - I think he's having a good year. If you take a look at his first 3 years they were sub par to say the least. I'm glad he's on App and excelling. If he can continue to get better IMO next year would be a better chance.

Just hope we can retain our bats that are eligible to return: Boyd, Rodgers, Moronta, Xuereb. Anyone have an update on Cross injury? We will need a lot more than just Tut Cross and Hamilton next year, especially with all the bats leaving.

Edit: Retain ASL at all costs. We have to return those 5 bats.
