Any news on stadium expansion?
Any news on stadium expansion?
I remember DG shared in an interview a few months ago that there would be more news on the East side expansion in Q1, but I haven't seen anything new yet. Really hope they replace East side upper deck while they're at it. Anyone have any updates on new renderings/ time line?

Re: Any news on stadium expansion?
About a month ago I was told that new renderings had just been commissioned and would be available soon. The overall plans have not changed, and these will get into more detail about things like where kitchen/catering will play in, where bathrooms will be located, etc., which will in turn drive the mechanical details so that construction can be bid out and subsequently begin. Still aiming for 2025 opening, unless supply chain issues impact the schedule.Eggers09 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 2:39 pmI remember DG shared in an interview a few months ago that there would be more news on the East side expansion in Q1, but I haven't seen anything new yet. Is the NEZ done? Wouldn’t we want to finish that before moving to the East side?BeauFoster wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 3:49 pmAbout a month ago I was told that new renderings had just been commissioned and would be available soon. I’ve only been in the NEZ a couple of times. I did not notice any unfinished areas. I didn’t go thru the entire building so I don’t know for sure. If there is unfinished business there, I too would think it should be finished before other new construction.

Can two things be worked on at the same time? And what needs to be done in the NEZ?311neers wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 3:54 pmIs the NEZ done? Finish to the renderings/elevations that were accepted in plans. Assuming Covid altered plans and it’s done and complete based off the responses.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 4:08 pmDepends on what you expect it needs to be completed?311neers wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 3:54 pmIs the NEZ done? I’m not sure what the plans looked like originally, but it is done.311neers wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 9:11 amFinish to the renderings/elevations that were accepted in plans. Re: Any news on stadium expansion?
If so, can we please replace the upper east stands with brick, mortar and concrete?

The NEZ looks unfinished even if it’s not . Maybe that’s what they’re saying.

Any updates on East would be interesting, was told it would not happen unless fully funded beforehand, last price tag was 60 million, or so.

Re: Any news on stadium expansion?
Well for starters the massive 40 foot high void under the seats looks ridiculous and unfinished or an oversight. Then there’s the eye test of the person that didn’t demand it to be centered to the field. Off center makes it look unfinished.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 8:02 amHow so?mountaineerman wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 7:00 amThe NEZ looks unfinished even if it’s not . Re: Any news on stadium expansion?
Fair observation. The void was intentional so to serve a multipurpose function and the off center look could be due to constraints in the build. My point is that not everything that looks wrong, actually is.mountaineerman wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 8:21 amWell for starters the massive 40 foot high void under the seats looks ridiculous and unfinished or an oversight. Re: Any news on stadium expansion?
I’m with you mountainerman. The void beneath the seats looks unfinished. If multipurpose was the idea for that area, seems like we could have arraigned for pull out seating if needed. The “off center” aspect is really baffling to me. Looks odd. Wonder what construction, design or footing constraints could have caused that.mountaineerman wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 7:00 amThe NEZ looks unfinished even if it’s not . Off center was on purpose to connect the sides with the next expansion project.mountaineerman wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 8:21 amWell for starters the massive 40 foot high void under the seats looks ridiculous and unfinished or an oversight. That void was for people using the tables under there during good weather to drink. Only half kidding.pop5app wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:47 amI’m with you mountainerman. i thought off-center was to throw off opponent's field goal attempts.

Re: Any news on stadium expansion?
If the columns underneath the stands weren’t needed then I suppose that you could have roll in seating. However, due to a structural engineering flaw, the supports became necessary.
