In regards to the "Jimmys and Joes" comments, I saw a lot of the same mistakes from the App Defense in the last 13 games I saw back in Jones' first run as Defensive Coordinator from 2010-2012. Poor tackling, blown coverages, inability to get off the field on third and longs. When the scheme worked, it worked perfectly. But against competent FBS QB's who could run and pass, it was a struggle.

Scot Sloan should've been the hire in 2020, but naturally he was at Georgia Southern, giving App fits. Sloan and Ponce being back may not be "splashy" to you all but they are really, really big hires for the program considering the trajectory right now.
