Man, I just read this - hate it - certainly one of my favorites of all time, CSN&Y - what harmony those guys had!!! - Still live by one of the famous lines from "Carry On" --- WE HAVE NO CHOICE, BUT TO CARRY ON ---

You better go see the iconic musicians of the 60’s and 70’s while you can. I was on the web site ready to buy tickets to see what turned out to be Tom Petty’s last show and I didn’t make that purchase. I said to myself, I don’t need to drive 4 hours to Atlanta, I’ll see him in Charlotte next time. There was no next time. I always try to pick out different bands to listen to each weekend as I work around the house. This weekend, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. For you music lovers, don’t miss this second chance to see The Eagles Hotel California show coming up In Greensboro. Amazing show in which they have a full orchestra and a choir. They do the album from Hotel California to The Last Resort and it is flawless.

I've spent a chunk of my life doing that very thing. Musicians from all genres. Clarence Clemmons, Walter Becker, Dave Brockie, John Hartford to name a few I got to see before they died. Some big names I missed were Prince, Tom Petty, Eddie van Halen, Jeff Beck, BB King, Joey Jordison, and many others who have died since the year 2000. They are vanishing quickly. Gotta get steve vai on my list soon.

Just in case you didn’t see it, Buddy Guy says this is his last tour. At his age I believe him. Seen him a bunch but if Buddy says he’s done I’m going this time too.

For the non old heads (I guess being 40 makes me an old head now), Go check out Carry on or Woodstock by Crosby Still Nash and Young. I have been working my butt off to see as many of my favorite 70's bands before they are all gone.

Neil Young is over the hill. Can’t sing a lick. Same with Willie and Dylan.

Saw Willie a couple of years ago and he killed it. Saw Dylan last year and it was just ok but it was Dylan. I have seen Willie when he was more or less just on stage, but when he’s on he can still do it.

Dylan could never sing. Incredible song writer, but people who convinced themselves that they enjoyed the noise coming from his mouth baffled me. Willie's voice is an acquired taste, but he can't sing anymore. His son has some solid songs.
I went and saw the Rolling Stones in Charlotte in '21 and was honestly surprised at how good Mick sounded, I was honestly expecting him not to sound good, but figured it would be my last chance to see the Stones.

I've never been a huge concert guy. My first was Boston back probably in '78ish in Fayetteville. That probably remains as the best one I saw. Caught Genesis at the Dean Dome and the Cars in Greensboro.

I still remember reading an article in Rolling Stone back in high school- maybe 45 years ago or so that talked about The Rolling Stones and the writer said that a fan should go see them before they got old and silly. I never really made an effort to catch them but kind of wish I had. I'm a classic rock guy and it's brutal seeing guys drop off.

The concert that I do regret never seeing is The Stones - however my wife saw them in Virginia Beach from the second row in the late 60s - guess that could never be topped ---

But you don’t have to be a good singer to make it in the business. It certainly helps, but quite a few have made it without the voice.

One word, passion. If a singer can bring the emotion of the song out the flaws in the voice become “character”.

If the Stones tour again you should go. Went to the show in Charlotte last year and it was awesome. No, Mick can”t hit every note but that didn’t matter. He found away around the stuff he couldn’t do. And the music itself made up for any flaws. Don’t get me wrong the vocals were good, just not quit what the use to be.
