Re: Geep Wade to GaTech
I doubt anyone was shocked by this move.
At least Geep could leave with an offer in hand versus holding a fresh set of walking papers from Clark.

Re: Geep Wade to GaTech
Hope this doesn’t affect some of the OL guys we are currently recruiting hard.

This is going to be why APP is going to keeps recruits and possibly be why some others didn't transfer out

I'm guessing this is why he wasn't publicly let go after not even coaching his unit for the final month...

2022 App State Offense Rankings Stats per ESPN.com
Total offense #25 - 455 total yards per game, 255 passing yards per game, 204 rushing yards per game.
Rushing offense ranked #22 at 204 yards per game and 27 TD's (plus Peoples and Noel missed games)
Before you pass judgement check the facts.....that OL helped score 60 points on UNC and man handled Texas A & M.
That teams issues were deeper than the OL coach. Clark wasn't going to let the guy go he just hired.

Well he didn't let him coach the last month of the season....DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 5:02 pm2022 App State Offense Rankings Stats per ESPN.com

Re: Geep Wade to GaTech
i dont think geep was the problem...i think scheme was the issue..lining up on 4th and 1 with everybody stacking the box...running up the gut..we did that same damn play so much everybody knew what was coming...and trying to do it with an o-line that wasn't built for it...our guys were great at moving laterally not blowing folks off the ball...and that same play cost us again and again...i mean run something different

Which is why as the season ran on those who said we didn’t have the talent just don’t know because we had the talent. All of our issues went to off field stuff and coaching. I figured we would either lose Wade or Barbay and I’m glad we keep Barbay. I wish Wade the very best at GT though.DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 5:02 pm2022 App State Offense Rankings Stats per ESPN.com

Re: Geep Wade to GaTech
The offense ultimley wasn't the problem. The problem was that the defense had a massive talent gap along with quite a few injuries during the season. Depth on D was very evident as well. I will say IMO the Dline played better towards the end but still needs a better pass rush to help on the backend.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 5:30 pmWhich is why as the season ran on those who said we didn’t have the talent just don’t know because we had the talent. Re: Geep Wade to GaTech
So everyone who think our OL was so great this year please explain why every team started stacking the box after 3-4 games into season? I don’t know all the reasons but most opposing DCs must have spotted a weakness and they ALL did the same thing, loaded the box and it worked.

Just saying, but it appeared the Oline played better the last month of the season.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 5:04 pmWell he didn't let him coach the last month of the season....DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 5:02 pm2022 App State Offense Rankings Stats per ESPN.com

Best of luck to Coach Wade. Hope recruiting isn’t impacted. Excited to see who we replace him with.
GO APPS!!

Or how we lost all those 3rd/4th and shorts throughout the year. Overall stats are inflated when you get games against Citadel/Bobby Morris.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 5:40 pmSo everyone who think our OL was so great this year please explain why every team started stacking the box after 3-4 games into season? Re: Geep Wade to GaTech
most good teams wont run up the gut every single time on 4th and 1 knowing we've struggled with that...i mean we do have receivers...we also could have spread everybody out..which would limit confusion on who to block when you dont know which gaps are being shot...spread everybody out be dynamicGSUwasGump’sFallbackSchool wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 6:01 pmOr how we lost all those 3rd/4th and shorts throughout the year.
