We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

After enduring every home game, two midweek games, two FCS games, cold and Conway - I have no desire to attend the final home game of the year. Changes need to be made to the staff. Dale jones should be gone. I don’t give a flying flip about his relationship to tommy Sofield. Honestly, barbay should be on a tight leash as well. I only want to keep him for offensive consistency with Berger. Clark has one more year in my opinion to show something. If we have another year like this next year, he should be fired December 2, 2023. His buyout will only be 500k. Thank god app tickets have an easy resell market.
Shawn Clark - the clock is ticking buddy.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
I guess you are happy that our goals are still in front of us? Why can’t people critique the team or coaches without getting a negative reaction. We have to admit our problems to fix them. We have problems. It’s not directly Shawn Clark at the moment. I feel like that is a fair statement to make. Chime in with actual substance if you disagree.
I never said you can't critique. I'm just saying if you're going to get rid of your tickets, don't let the door hit you on the way out. You're free to do as you please.
I'm not happy with the results either. But I'm still going to support my team. If you don't want to, you don't have to. But, again, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

We’re not good, but chase is the only reason we’re even competitive lately.
You are 100 percent correct. In fact I would say our best chance to win any of our remaining games is to protect with 5, let the back or tight end be a “hot” route and run the other 3 down the field and let Chase throw the ball.

I m sure our AD, coaches and players are not happy with this season. Nor am I. I’m also not happy with the stock market. Bad years happen. I will not abandon my team during a tough time. Complain sure but never quit. This will get never get fixed without our support. We got to ride this out.

TBH I haven't read any of this but the title of the thread made me actually laugh. Solid analysis. I'm picturing the tv with this headline on the bottom on a college football show, "Welcome back, some breaking news just now being reported, App State football equals poop"

Agreed here. Might not go to as many road games perhaps but show up to the home games.

I really don't think App equals poop never have never will. Pulled for them all my life from as early as I remember. My freshman year was Workings last pulled for them then and will always. I don't remember back before the season started if many or anyone was expecting us to go undefeated. Best I can remember 7-5 or 8-4 was the consensus. That may be doubtful now but still attainable. Am I disappointed? Absolutely! Especially after the wild start to the season. I have questioned play calling but not to the point of being obnoxious with it. I also think we have a handful of Divas on the squad I will not point out because they are kids. I also think we have some other kids on the team that are not as skilled as those in previous years. Some will improve some won't. Those that won't I sure hope the portal will deliver their replacements. Some have questioned Chase, I don't understand that. I'm not sure where we would stand without him running the plays. 3-6 maybe? I'm pulling for my TEAM, APP STATE if they are 0-12 or 14-0. PERIOD!

I'll defer to your knowledge on that particular person. amend to need an a$$hole back.
I do agree we need a hype guy on the staff. We don't really have one.
I'll second that. Cardwell seemed to be that guy last year, along with Coach Mike and even back to Coach Dillman back in 2006-09 (I believe it was). Don't forget Coach Elliott. I think we also lack vocal leaders on the team. Guys that'll get in your face when you don't do you job and say, "You'll do it my way, or I'll kick your backside." It seems to me that there's a lack of vocal leadership on this team than in years past.

I hated the results, but it was still a great atmosphere last night (minus the chant of the Coastal students). We had a great turnout and had great fan support. No reason I am going to scale back on going to the road games that I can fit into my schedule.

I am rewatching the game onESPN and I have to say the defense seemed to be in good position and just missed a lot of tackles. I feel better about the defensive coaching staff after rewatching. We are definitely slow in the defensive backfield but the defense had lots of chances to get off the field if they wrapped up on some of those 3rd and longs. Mccall made some great plays as well. We got beat. They played a good game and we did not execute. I don't know the answer but we are not way off.
Lots of mistakes and still had a chance to win near the end on the road.

Chase is the best qb we have had since AE and has the best arm talent of any qb I have seen in the black and gold.
Arm talent wise sure. But he just doesn't fit what we we need to make the running game go. With no threat to get chunk plays in the QB run game, teams just key on Peoples/Noel. Having an athletic QB really opens our offense up. I am by no means saying Chase is the reason for our demise, as that primaraily rests on our defense. As much as I like Brice personally and love the arm, he does not fit what has really made this offense hum the last 18 years. We have never pass blocked well, like ever. But we ran the ball so damn well w/ the QB running element that teams couldn't pin their ears back and go.

All the people on the Mountaineer Message Board Yosef's Cabin that said, "We need to be in a better conference with better competition." News Flash! we have arrived.
The fact is; we are in a better conference with better competition now. The Sun Belt is on the rise and Appalachian as well as everyone else in the Sunbelt is on the rise, especially the Sun Belt East. Appalachian is not just in a good conference, it has built that conference into a great conference. It is actually the envy of a lot of conferences, because you can drive to all the games in either division. Not many conferences can claim that.
Appalachian is not really down, it just seems that way due to our success. Once we get out of the Drinkwitz recruiting years and the covid 6 bunch Appalachian will return to what is normal for Appalachian. Appalachian has built one of the programs that other teams wish to emulate. Do not forget that. Do not forget that. Do not forget that.
It is not a rivalry if you never loose to your rival. Just ask Western Carolina...

That is ideal but I just hope disenfranchised fans would at least show up to the last home game. These seniors deserve our support for it.

I don't blame Chase, even though he has the speed of a turtle for the loss. I can't believe we abandoned our running game after the success we had the last few games. Our game plan was almost as bad as our secondary that has been swiss cheese all season. We were outcoached on offense and defense.

Good analogy, and a good mindset to keep myself from spiraling. What goes down must come up, right?
