Aren't there SEC teams (Tennessee and Georgia I think) who are canceling games with Oklahoma? State may just see a better opportunity. This might not be about us.

SEC made UGA cancel v OU. UGA picked up Ball State because no one else had openings next year. Would love to see State go play a big boy week one... and no, ECU, USC or MSST don't count as big boys.

Has NC State history been to schedule big boys routinely? Not often as I recall

They used to play Penn State annually and Georgia frequently. Now it's UConn and Charleston South with one decent P5 early.

Nope, thus their mediocrity. They pull the Coastal approach. Rack up the wins, don't travel anywhere fun or big time football and get the easy wins early on.
Trust me, it was a lot more fun going down to Alex Box stadium to start the year and taking 2 of 3 from LSU rather than playing Quinnipiac and going 3-0 to start the year in some whack tourney in Myrtle Beach for baseball. Also helps the brand and national stage when you play the studs....and win!

Maybe we should take the Coastal or State approach but I like playing the big boys, even though it might hurt the W/L record or cause bumps and bruises early on.

A fun P5 series I’d love us to play is with Georgia Tech. Bobby Dodd is a great place to catch a game, easy commute for fans (we have great turn outs for GA State), and we’d likely beat them.

I happend to be at thier game last weekend vs. nobody, er, i mean Uconn. Their team, fan base etc. were pretty funny acting like they were winning the CFP championship game or something. Cannot really figure out how the pundts rank them where they are when only possible challenge so far was tx tech which wasnt much of a challenge.

I'll concede that UConn is awful, but that Tx Tech team beat Texas last week. The same Texas team that almost beat Bama.

Like bcoach, I’d be curious to know the source. I live in Wake County, but I’ve heard nothing. Why would State cancel right after scheduling a home-and-home?
Because State RARELY plays anyone decent OOC. They love racking up easy wins.

Lol! I may be mistaken, but weren’t you the one that posted all that in depth UNC roster knowledge prior to the UNC game?
